Our amazing deputy editor @Karin_88 has interviewed @dgam02 on his return to staff. When was the last time you were on ECC's staff team, and what was your last rank? Server Admin in 2018. I came back as mod for like 3 weeks in summer of 2019 but fell out of interest with minecraft really quickly around then so I don't really consider that or have any real memories of that tenure. Aww, that's unfortunate! What was the most memorable moment from the last time you were on staff? I remember my original mod round was like a bunch a bunch of trolls and the first week we were jokingly berating and roasting each other in staff chat until Clar told us to shut up. I also miss the old staff memes over the years with people like Strongpelt, Imagine, and so on. That sounds like fun, and I'm sure they miss you too! Is there anything you plan to do differently on staff this time around? Not being inactive would be a good start. My first staff tenure was sort of plagued with that due to dwindling interest in the game and other irl stuff, but I am pretty good at recognizing when it's time to go and such. Otherwise probably just be more proactive as I have gotten lazy on staff before and been kinda dead weight at times. Well, it's good to see you back Do you find being a staff member affects your ability to make money as fast as when you weren’t a staff member? I already talk too much in chat which affects my ability to make money so I see no difference tbh. Only difference is that I have to switch servers more often so that might take a bite but I really don't mind at all as I'll usually find a way to pull together any money I need. The spawn town of Holland recently went up for auction after the old owner got himself in trouble with the administration. The town is beautiful with expensive buildings made from quartz and gold blocks. The winner of the auction was decided after no reply to the forum thread for 24 hours. With a bid of 8.5 million, @Fescht won the bid! When I asked @Fescht why he wanted the town, his response was: “because I can afford it” and that is not solely due to his lotto win recently, he also claims he was “already rich”. His plans with the town are to flatten it and do something with it eventually, although no current plans on what he will build on it. He also believes that spawn towns in Main are not as nice looking as spawn towns in archive, so he wishes to build to the standard of archive. The final question I asked, was what he was going to do with current residents, his response was that they will have “ample time to move their stuff”. @Karin_88 brings us our latest competition! If you're a newer Builder or Resident rank, there's a new building competition taking applications now! "Clever Creations" is the name, and this event is specifically for players who've joined the forums within the last 30 days, and are either a [Builder] or [Resident] rank. The aim is to get newer players excited about the server by having a short event geared towards them, and hopefully get them to stick around! The task: build the coolest house you can, with only the supplies given to you at your plot. If you walked around the Events town on Main, you'd see some very festive builds, including: an Easter basket wrapped in plastic (by @StoveRepairs); a bunny creeper with some baby chicks in a chocolate egg (by @BrokeMel); and even a few hilarious bunny renditions of the owner and a co-owner (by @Lodogg). However, the winners of the events could not be beat. Third place went to @LaggyTryHard, who built a more historical build for Easter. With some beautiful scenery around a grave-site for Jesus, this build was just amazing. Congrats, Laggy! Second place was a team effort: Congrats @Karin_88, @blazwura97, @kenny0011, and @xGoldenSunflower! Their build featured many things to see: a giant Easter basket, a secret garden, plenty of pixel art, and a fun little minecart ride. Congrats you guys! @Quackk came in first! He built a huge, natural-looking canyon, and on top of a beautiful church stood a giant rabbit statue. The build also featured a pretty waterfall, a cave, and Easter eggs hidden all over.
