Hello @Madielake , how are you doing today? Absolutely fantastic, thanks for asking!! Mind if I ask you a few questions about you recently joining the staff team? Of course, I would be absolutely honored! How long have you played on the server? I first joined ECC in 2016 and played for a while before I lost access to my mc account. I rejoined in March of this year and have been playing faithfully ever since! Have you tried out for the staff team before? I have not, this was my first time applying for the staff team. What made you decide to try out for the staff team this last round? I have always enjoyed being apart of the ECC community but I knew I always wanted to do more, so when the opportunity came up and I thought I could really do a good job, I applied! Best decision I ever made! Are you enjoying being on staff so far? I have enjoyed it soooo much! Everyone is so kind and welcoming and its been an amazing opportunity to get to serve the players of ECC. Anything memorable happen since you joined the team? Well just being apart of the team has been memorable but I think some of the best moments have been: Having people ask constantly who I was when I first got on the team Spending 40 minutes finding a jungle in mining for a builder just to be told he didn't want it anymore accidentally sending messages meant for my friends in staff chat and then subsequently trying to explain them but failing miserably Overall it has been a blast and I have enjoyed every moment of it! Any advice for people who'd like to join the staff team in the future? Take it seriously. I wrote all of my answers in a doc, then checked them over and made sure it was my best possible work. Then of course I had a friend check them and make sure they sounded good. In all my answers I aimed to make sure my response filled three categories 1. Player safety 2. Player Fun 3. Player Ease. I am so excited to be here and can't wait to have more exciting moments with the team! @Revanrose6 contacted me and wanted me to do a story on her project, "The Rail Across MainNorth", inspired by "The Road Across Main", a project we covered last issue. I had some time to sit down with Revan to ask her some questions about her crazy project, which she completed within a week! I also got some neat screenshots, and gifs to show you guys It's pretty amazing, as it stretches from biome to biome! What inspired you to do the rail across MN? Your report on the road plus talking to MadieLake about how much she loves that road on Main, led to the creation of this rail system. Ahh, yes How long did it take you? Probably 3-4 days total of just hard work. That's quite impressive! Did anyone help you make it (if so, who)? Madielake, OhanaPaige02, Splaytick, Romper, and Zwunder helped build it and some donated materials. MinecraftParker, Devo_50, BSQT, and Kimi2QT were among those who donated supplies. How long does it take to ride it? Like about an hour from one end to the other. What are your plans to keep the rail in tact? Probably /locking the rails. Any other plans with the rails, like making neat things to the side, or stuff like the "cart wash"? Yes we are planning to make several fun things and it will likely get much longer. We've already made an extra special part for the ride, but that's a secret for now, and not hooked up to the main line yet because of that. I noticed some of the rail is twisty/turny. How much would you say is straight (percentage wise)? I'd guess like 90% atm. It won't remain that way. That's only to get around towns tho. Nice And how do people get to the rail if they want to check it out themselves? This was part of his suggestion: "I suggest that we allow trading nstars for emeralds and/or diamonds especially saying emeralds because if I want to make a big project with emeralds is practically impossible plus it would give nstars more worth." Owner andrewkm was actually the first person to +1 the suggestion, and he eagerly awaited to see what the community thought about this change. There was plenty of support, so this is now at thing! If you've got ExtCreations and have been wanting to make gates/doors/bridges out of more materials than was provided, you're now able to make them out of a ton of different materials! @Ayriia suggested this, saying "My primary suggestions is to add all blocks types like concrete, wool, stone types, slabs, woods, glass, panes etc to Gates. Reason being is for a typical door, a gate is much easier to create than the door feature. Which is great for a more complex build, (like casinos) but honestly makes an awful door."
