Sweeping Edge/Swing Attack not working

Brief Description:
Both sweeping edge and the swinging attack with a sword is not working. This started happening a week or so ago.
Instructions:
I have tested this with an iron sword and a max sword with sweeping edge 3. Hitting a group of mobs used to have a swing attack that damaged 3+ mobs, but now it only works on 1. I turned off /fly, and I have tested it while crouching and not.
How many times did you recreate this?:
50+
Result:
Only damaging one mob
Expected Result:
Damaging multiple mobs
Evidence:
Hitting a group of mobs in single player (I tried to recreate my setup similarly on a single player world)

Grinding mobs on ecc
