I agree that the workload and monitoring of this seems outrageous and unnecessary. Please explain when, if ever, a 3 strike type system has ever been in place. While I feel that punishments are getting more harsh and the time for responding to these repeat offenders is being lengthened, I could fill the thread with examples of felons with more than 3 strikes. I 100% agree - players should not be breaking the rules! The "Bad Apple" scenario. Not being the owner of this server, or even staff, I have no idea how they can determine how far good players that contribute to the community can be pushed around by the "bad apples" who scam and troll, however, it is obviously hard to balance. I do believe that our staff does a much better job of not babying those that scam or troll than before and am grateful for their service.
If a player cannot control him/herself then they shouldn't be on the server. Period. Also if they can't control themselves and these "officers" shouldn't be doing it for them, to me that is babying. Secondly, The chances of staff adding another rank to aid scammers and rule breakers is 1 in a million. There are already the necessary staff in place to do this.
Yeah but they are. Then there should be harsher rules for felons and then this suggestion would be redundant. Either have harsher punishments or have someone control the rule breakers. In this case they can monitor the people on probation.
I don't think you understand what I'm saying The probation thing will never work. Although it may seem all singing all dancing in text, in practise it will be near impossible to monitor.
A more realistic alternative would be to enforce greater punishments. This suggestion.. I don't even know.
I don't really see why this is impossible we are not sending people to Mars here, we just want to stop a few 13 year olds from scamming in minecraft. Maybe it will be a bit harder than the usual routine but its not impossible.
Yah sure 120% for that! Can you tell the exact same thing to the GA's and Phys? But even if you do they will never do it because-moneeyy.
Its simple. They perma-ban someone there is no chance the person buys a feature, no feature no cash. But if they ban someone for lets say a week or two they still might buy a feature at some point. I don't agree with this but its how things are done.
No? Andrew started this server for him and his brother (I believe) for fun. It grew and grew, and things needed paying for, donations pay the bills for the server, they aren't profit to owners/administration.
I don't mean those who get away with it. I am talking about people with multiple short term bans for stuff like scamming, hacking, trolling etc. People like that are still on and some of them if not all are still doing their own tricks.
Thats what I'm saying, a minority of them get allowed back on time after time. That has to stop. Once they are off ECC they should be off ECC.
But who lets them back in? Why are they protected? Its not an accident for sure. Is it corrupt staff members, or they just don't care? Whatever the reason something has to be done.
Well, its not corruption with in staff - staff do a lot of checks and balances to make sure they are all doing the right thing. However, sometimes it can be overlooked and slip-up can happen. Staff do care... I can assure you.
