As most of the community may know, lapis is now required while enchanting.
To get a max enchant you would need 3 piece of lapis. This shows that the price per lapis should get higher or lower when 1.8 releases. The reason why that I have stated that is because there are many uses to it now, and users would tend to find it more than usual. They have a choice between selling it or actually enchanting with it. There finally is a new use to it, and it is a chance to spam our lapis!

    So what's your suggestion?
to raise or lower the price?

I think the player-to-player market will set the price.
and isn't gold also being used in enchantments?

The max per enchantment is only 3 lapis. If the player market sees a need for increasing the price, it will. I don't see a need to touch the server price.

IMHO, I don't think it will affect lapis prices after the initial "shock". I mean 3 lapis (max) for a new enchant isn't that much. It doesn't affect combos or erepairs, so I don't see a sudden "rush to grab all the lapis".

I actually did not know about this "lapis enchanting" thing. What exactly is it?

Also, I don't think server price needs to change and I don't see the market changing much because it is only $15 worth of lapis.

    New enchating rules:

When you place an item in an enchanting table, there are 3 choices. This is normal with the 3 choices showing.

When you hover over the 3 choices, you will get to see what one of the enchants will be using that choice. There may be more depending on the level of the enchant and the item.

These 3 choices are now set (no removing and putting item back to get 3 different enchants.)

To use the lowest level choice, you must insert one lapis (plus the item) in addition to having the levels. To use the 2nd choice, you must insert 2 lapis. To unlock the third choice, you will need to use up 3 lapis.

I don't think the lapis market will take much of a hit at all. Now lapis won't need to be autosold to the server. Thats about it. Theres no reason to up or lower the price when it has such a small use anyways. I mean redstone has a massive use and the player value of it barely even mattered. Players still sell hand redstone and it has many uses. I vote we just keep it as is. If we drop the price, then those who have been hoarding it for gems suddenly lose a massive amount of money. If we raise the price then they gain a massive amount of money. Effectively those people would suddenly make a ton of money for doing nothing but hoarding.

    -1 leave the price alone.
