I think, we should have a new map. 75% of this map is WATER.
And with the problem of ***PLAYER NOT SPECIFIED*** he has a town at spawn. He is also taking up what small amount of precious land we have. With a new map, we would have much more land and places for small wild settlements/cities to be made, so a abandoned town or 2 would not be a problem.
Thank you for reading my suggestion,

Wouldnt change a thing, part of 1.0.0 generation.

I agree and disagree at the same time with this suggestion
On one hand, a new map would give us a chance of new land, possibly not water, and a new fresh town start
On the other hand, a new map means redeem apps have to be done again, the entire restart has to be done, new map has to be open, races for the spawn towns will begin again, and there may still be water. Also, some towns that havent been worldedited to flat land will have very wierd landscape when peiced together with the rest of the new landscape.
For me:
25% for this suggestion

I'm %100+ against this. If my town was transferred = no longer snow biome. I didn't restart my town to have it restarted AGAIN. I'm completly against this.

This is the map Andrew is planning to stay with for a while. Doubt a new one will come after all the work that he did for this one...
Also, gman is right. 1.0.0 generation makes it 75% water. Chances of us having more on a new map are incredibly low with our map size. We would have to spend days constantly regenerating a new map, over and over, then the live map to see how much water there is. Would take way too long. -

If a mayor is banned, his town should be returned to the wild after 2 weeks. This gives people enough time to take their stuff out, and also free's up any land. Also perhaps a new rule should be implemented? That towns must be placed along certain lines, or in certain grids. If Andrew were to divide up the map into 200*200 squares, and then you had to choose a pre-arranged grid spot, people would no longer place their towns hap hazardly on the map. This would free up more land. It would play havoc with the 50 cell radius thing, but that could be gotten around by simply acquiring both town mayors permission, to have a town camped on their doorstep.

As for them main suggestion of this thread, I am against it. Completely. Way too much work for Andrew. WAY too soon since the last map. No major issue.
No good land to make a town? Terraform it, get a worldedit, build on it. CHANGE it yourself. No land at all to use? Make a town on the water. Worldedit some land. Terraform outside it, or wall it off. I would love to even see some more water/ocean towns... Creativity is always refreshing to see. :/
