I don't think this is needed. Its more simple to 1) Go to the wiki team members thread, which lists specifically who is on the wiki team, compared to wiki team members being scattered around the forums, which makes it pretty much a cool rank to show off, serving pretty much no purpose whatsoever. 2)Post in the Wiki section on the forums so wiki team members can help if its needed. Basically its a pointless banner just for the looks. And lets be honest. How many times have you contacted a wiki team member about something to change in the wiki? Ive only had to do it once, and a simple thread to tell the wiki team about it did the trick. -1
+1 I would like to see them recognized a bit more. Saying it's a "useless banner" can be applied to staff too. Why is there a staff banner? Just look them up in current stuff right? Or the blue, gold, or red names? Same basic principle. wiki staff does a ton of work for us to keep our gaming experience at top performance I think a banner is deserved.
+1, maybe just for the looks. But, why not? They are an important part of the community. They help both, old and new users, to learn or review the rules, ranks and tons of useful information. I think that they really deserve this.
Although I see what you mean, im going to say staff members have the banner due to the forum gold upgrades, so no matter what current rank they are, users will know they are on the staff team. Sure, staff and wiki team members deserve something like this to be recognized, but that shouldn't be why you apply. You should apply for staff/wiki team to HELP users, not get recognization that "Oh hey im on the wiki team! Im special" or something related.
I don't think that the banner will change the people witch applies, I mean no one will only enter because they want the banner, there are applications for some reason. This won't make the wiki team full of people that only want to show off.
I still don't understand why your against this. You agree they deserve something like but at the same time dont? Unless there is an actual reason why it would have a negative impact (you say it's becuase people would get it jsut for the banner the same can be said with staff) i think this is a good way to recognize these helpful and devoted players.
+1, It'll be just a nice little appreciation thing for them, in my opinion, and I think they deserve that.
+1, it does give the wiki team some recognition, and bumping it because I'd actually like to see it happen
This was implemented in 2011. Not really useful to be honest, and as far as I see, this thread is mostly users supporting it so that they can have a flashy banner. Not something I see as remotely needed.
