I remember there was ONE (ONE<---- That's a one right there ladies and gentlemen) that I saw andrew removing a town and that was because the mayor (can't remember if there was a comayor but if there was he was caught the same) was (against the rules to say) and (against the rules to say). But I've only seen it happen once, but there was a 0(0 :D Its a 0!) percent chance of the user coming back.

Anyways -1 because say I was going on an extremely long vacation or my internet was broken or something along those lines that would prohibit me from playing minecraft, and it takes 3 months to get it fixed or until I come back. I would come back and my town would be removed. I would then want to quit ECC because of all that I've worked on.

I'm afraid your info is wrong jetscat, you might remember the exp scam that went on a while back? Like 16 people permabanned, on top of anyone permabanned before then.

There's two different PermaBans. One is a 'PermaBan' that you're only allowed to Appeal through andrewkm. And then there's a PermaBan where you're completely off our server, with -no- chance of appeal.

Jason is right, the people in the exp exploit have NO chance of appeal, they all abused the glitch to an insane extent.

Like i said, I'm sure a few of those people have a town.
Although 100% PermaBans are rare, it would be useful to clear a townspace or two when it does happen.

Maybe auctioning off towns with Mayors inactive more than 5 months?

But, as for a complete deletion of a town, -1.

Yeah...but you'd also have to tell them there is a chance the original owner may come back and he has rights to reclaim the town.
Some people may not want to spend 60k buying a town just to have the original mayor came back a month later.
Then again...some people would take the chance of losing a ton of money if they think they can make it back by using the town.

There would also be the fact that any active players and the town doesn't go up for sale, unless the active people decide to leave and let it go for sale. And if there are ANY C0-Mayors AT ALL STILL ACTIVE then the town won't go to auction.

    Otherwise, nice idea softly.

Well, that's where specifics and rules would come into play. Such as if the owner at the time of the auction came back, he/she had the right to their chests/items which could be stored in a small part of the town in a few chests. Or, maybe since they were offline for so long without warning, they just lose their items. After all, if you disappear for 5+ months, there's a good chance it's by choice, and not because your internet went out for a week or two. If there were Residents still in the town, it would obviously be up to the auction winner on wether or not to keep them. If in choosing not to keep them, the Residents would get a week to collect their items.

Like I said, there is a good chance none of this will go through. I am aware the original topic of this thread has come up in the past and has been denied. I was merely putting in an input that was in my mind, not necessarily working out specifics so that Staff could put it into play :p

Softly, if you want something to work, but it into specifics. Specifics specifics specifics...that's how ideas come around. They get fine tuned by the community.

Jason, if they consider my idea I will gladly provide specifics. But if they don't like the idea, specifics are just superfluous.

Specifics are the things that much up ideas. Too many specifics can be superfluous (yes, i know that word :p), but not enough specifics will cause people to not like your idea.

I am saying no to this, like i have posted in other threads this requires more work for the owners, aswell as seeing that a user may be banned or highly inactive, however how do you not know that they wont appeal? Or that they come back one day.

Aswell as users live in the towns, its unfair to them that all their stuff may be cleared because the mayor of their town got banned, or went inactive.

If you read all the stuff i had on it, you would note this would only effect PERMAbanned users, not ones who can appeal. And I'm against removing the stuff. You should put it in a chest somewhere until it hits the year of inactive mark, then possibly get rid of it...

Your last sentence doesnt make a lot of sense to me, But even if there are always the users of the town to consider, and if each user gets a chest with what belonged to them that means EVEN MORE work on the owner side, seeing as they have to remove the town, most likely notify the town citizens, AND put all the items in locked chests. Once again

I'm saying. All the chests locked by the mayor would be placed in a building somewhere, and locked up. When the guy has been offline one year + it gets dumped.
Also, if you had been reading, you would understand that it only only be placed on auction if everyone who had perms were inactive...
    Read the whole thread...

I have, but you also need to understand that I have been inactive for month at a time, a friend of mine has been inactive for over a year, and many others have aswell, your basicly saying that everything they worked for goes away, aswell as auctioning towns shouldnt happen seeing as andrewkm/ECC doesnt currently support town transfers, I am against it, and will stop argueing here so this doesnt turn into a flame, However jason I have read the whole thread, but I am voicing my opinions on each little idea that could pop up.
