^ But why should the original owner only be able to build. I understand the point of Tycoon, but think of it like this (Ignore the fact that if you are a tycoon, and own over 100 k, I for one have only 1 k in my /bal) So in reality, assuming that this server is trying to be a hardcore economy what better that reality..... Now Tim is selling his house, no one else is involved, Tim has paid off everything. Now Tim has sold his house to Bob, and Bob wants to put a frickin town portal in his goddam house, now on the way back home, Tim gets gundown and rages, so he quits life! Now how the hell is Bob going to put the spawn portal in his house? I don't think Bob has it in him to earn 300 k in his time to become a Tycoon then buy a claim.
Incorrect. Before town claims, people still became tycoon very often. For the suggestion, I agree. To be honest, town claims has nothing to do this because they go towards the inactive-owners, which if you just bought a town from an active person the issue is the town-transfer app. Sure you can do this, but town portals are on the necessary things in building a town. What if the person only gets on once every few months? Is it fair to prevent someone who bought the town to not buy a spawn portal? As for the "Original owner has final say in additions to town" argument, do you really think any sane owner who thinks after awhile he will get his town back will say no to a spawn-town portal?
-1 I'll tell you why. Very simply. Just because you are listed as 'owner' in the region info field, does not mean you are the 'original owner'. And therefor the server does not recognize you as the rightful owner. Player trading of towns that are not done through a claim/transfer app are not 'valid'. Very simply, you aren't the rightful owner. You are just a caretaker with the ability to modify the residents of the town. If you want the full rights of the rightful owner, you have to purchase/claim the town through legitimate means.
Thank god somebody answered my question, now my argument.... What if the new "owner" has a contract saying that well now he is the new "original owner"? Why can't we buy a town portal anymore? When buying the portal could we just show the contract?
What most people do is they have a contract done where they have the original owner of the town put in the town portal application for them.
But my original owner sold me the town because he doesn't get on anymore like never, never ever.... Again.
Because without the application fee being paid, the contract re:town transfer isn't enough to give you full rights, only 'caretaker' rights. What you are really asking is "Can we please do away with Town Transfer Apps and just use normal contracts to transfer towns?" The answer is going to be 'no'. The Town Transfer apps was Andrew's answer to allowing towns to be transfered. This was something he conceded to after many players complaining about not being able to transer towns. He started this less than 6 months ago. I have a feeling he is fine with this money sink and has no plans to change it. Otherwise it wouldn't be as expensive as it is. TL;DR: If you want to be the original owner, you are going to have to pay.
The town transfer application is for mayors. Anyone can use (except builders, as they cannot own towns) it, you just have to pay the fee.

^ exactly so it's not for mayors. I'd be happy if it were for mayors or contract proof of town is owned by new owner
Ah, I see. My bad. I think this should also be available for mayors as well. Only benefits the player base and economy.
