*Sits back, grabs popcorn, and watches the rage posts coming after this* Provide an example, don't name names, just give an example on how staff are going against what the rules say. I haven't seen this as I usually play on off peak times lately and haven't been witness to it. This. How do you "slip up" by pressing the "T" key, "typing **** that **** you ***" and then hitting enter? No, that was intentional. You could have raged in the privacy of your own residence (or in a soft StaticAge voice if you live with your parents), instead of in front of the general masses. And if you do happen to "slip up" and say something out of "rage" or "frustration" that isn't allowed, you're going to get warned. I'm going to play devil's advocate for a second here. Let me take a snippet from the rules and then we can discuss what you said above further. So technically, moderators do have a say in it. And if they are abusing their mod privileges, then it should reported to Andrewkm, but everyone knows that since you have all read the rules right? Here's the thing, anyone who knows me or has heard me in a skype call knows that I swear, and can string together some pretty hefty combinations too. However, not once, in the 484ish days I have been on this server, have I "slipped up" and typed something inappropriate in chat(even when I "wc" something which is quite often). Why? Because it shows maturity and respect for the other, perhaps younger players on EcoCity. Personal feelings aside, I abide by the staff guidelines set in place by the staff team and andrew as a whole. The rule I personally follow is that if you can't say it on the radio, you shouldn't be putting it in chat. As for a list of the words you can and can't say, it only takes common sense and watching global chat. If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be talking about/saying it.
What have you done o.o I mean, ive been getting moderatly raged because of all the 50 tick+ lottos ive been losing. Rather then typing a swear, gg or come on or whatever works is what i write. I mean, dont get me wrong, im a teenage guy, i play xbox often and swear there, schools not any better. While i personally am indifferent to swearing, its just for the benefit of the community, which is what matters. There are little kids here, but it seems that since people cant see them, they dont exist. Ive seen the arguement that they will be exposed to this type of language some day, but come on, learning it over minecraft? At least we can serve an example by showing that its bad, but there still is no place.
lavajok In-Game, one of my friends said "shit" in chat, due to him winning a huge lottery. He was then warned for saying that. I asked why he was warned, and multiple mods said because it was against the rules. He genuinely did not mean to, he was simply excited. Another time, in vent, my friend said "Dammit" in a channel with just him, a certain super mod litterally yelled "Watch your language!" Sure, I would have understood if there was a younger child in the channel, but every one of us were over the age of 18. Multiple other occasions there has bern similar situations. Anyway, I don't like to get in a debate over such a simple thing with such a simple fix.
W...what..? He got in trouble for saying dammit? I mean, 1st. within your text, the fact that they got warned for such things, makes no sense, SINCE they were not directed towards anyone, nor said a lot. I'm done.
If they do not mind it, then they will not mind it if it is removed. I am offended you think this centers you- everyone has an opinion and just because you post a few more posts doesn't make you a "star" of a debate. If I look at the thread correctly, you posted 2 messages and assumed you were the "star". The main one is everyone, everyone has an opinion and nothing makes yours better than theirs. blowtube123 I would suggest adding quotes from the opposite side so this thread isn't partically biased.
