Haven't read through the thread, so no idea if this has been suggested yet. How about allowing water to be placed in the mining world? The majority of new players start building there anyway, and it would still protect the feature because once you get to the stage of wanting features you are more than likely looking to build in the main worlds anyway.

-1 and this debate has gone on for years.

Both are already a donation feature and there is no good way to change that without diaappointing those who support the server and donate for it.

On a side note, neither leave logs when breaking crops, torches, etc.

-1 for the reasons this has been declined in the other 20+ times this has been suggested.

It shouldn't harm the people that donated for the feature, the suggestion is about allowing players to place a very limited number of water (not lava) blocks, not giving them the ability to place an infinite amount of the blocks.

But it does... If they can place something, no matter how many, it begins to nullify reasons to donate for the feature.
There is still the obvious grief concept with placing water as well.

We're talking a very limited amount in a certain time period. For examples sake let's say 20 blocks every 48 hours. Enough to make a farm, not enough to harm people that donated for water or to make any sort of substantial grief.

People that donate for the feature often use it less than that. So. -1.

I just don't understand this point of view, the players aren't gaining a way to place infinite amounts of water, it's so they can place very limited amounts without disadvantaging other players and to keep the new players on the server. It really causes no harm to those that have donated for water.

Water has the ability to flow eight blocks in all directions, is that not correct? It's far from limited when you're suggesting that players have the ability to place twenty water blocks per day. That's about 800 or so square blocks of water a day. That's not really very "limited" if you ask me.

If I get $15 in credit, I'll gladly let the suggestion pass, as I do agree that I think newer users should be allowed to place water, but I had to pay and now people get a freebie? Not on my watch.

It wasn't per day, it was every 2 days - and those numbers are just ones I made up on the spot for argument's sake.

Im new to this server so what i say may not matter, but honestly at least 1 bucket allowance would be sufficient. Ive been playing for a little bit, and the idea of donating had already crossed my mind before finding out i had to pay just to place a bucket of water down. All im after would be a simple farm, hell i spent a while just finding a decent area to start at, and had found very little animals along the way to keep my hunger up. I can see how those who pay for the ability to place water would be mad about this, but from a new player, its very discouraging to not be able to make a basic farm to start off. On top of that not everyone has the ability to just up and donate right then and there to keep going like that. I myself have to wait for a payday which means the entire time im on would be spent mining or something just to earn enough funds to pay for food i could be making myself with a baby 9x9 farm. In terms of griefing being a concern, one bucket even if that is all you get starting out shouldn't be enough to grief a players base, lava maybe but not water.

Trust me, your opinion matters, especially in a thread that is about improving the experiences of newer players.

I really do wish the "powers that be" could make a decision one way or the other and lock these type of suggestions so that there would not need to be endless bumps.
I still disagree with this personally for the record. I started out and took a couple of hours to mine and bought a plot and used the water there to plant my crops - ingenuity is not such a bad thing and those without any imagination or that are too lazy will probably not last long here anyways.
Perhaps a tutorial could be made to show new players how to plant crops using existing water sources?

-1, I think even just 5 water placements/day would be too much and remove the purpose of the feature, but 1 water placement/day would be useless because you couldn't really do anything with it. I think just leaving it as it is would be best, people can just buy a water placement from someone with the feature. We do need new players, but I don't think there's a good way to implement this without making the feature useless.
