Main issue is that the stats page would need to be reset every month. If Andrew has plans to keep it going with no resets, then the same people would be winning the medals every month (after a couple of months, once the board stabilizes and climbing becomes slow/impossible).

 

I love the idea but how would it work if the leaderboards are always changing? Maybe reset them monthly or do a tournament?

 

I believe it should be over a certain amount of wins or kills like 100 and it should be an Iron Sword...

 

After 100 wins you get an iron sword medal? This is an amazing idea! +1!!!!

No. Voting is different from SG. Andrew gives top voters giftcards since they helped out the server extremely by voting. Being good at SG doesn't help the server in ANY way. A medal is enough.

 

Tell that to the kit users. All the good sg players have kits, well most of them at least. The kit donations help the server heavily, but then we could always have the medal for kit donators only but I'd rather not.

 

I am against this idea for the fact that we are not a pvp based server. All current medals (besides the voting medal) have something to do with the economy (nether star collector, lucky lotto) and/or can be bought with ecodollars (ecc medal, donations). While the idea may seem practical to include some new things with sg, the factor of sg kits applies into the effort needed to obtain these medals.

All forum medals should be able to be fairly obtained by anyone. I for one will never be buying any of the sg kits as I don't care for pvp whatsoever. If all of pvp were to be removed from ECC, we would still be up as one of the best economy servers. Getting these sg medals would lean in favor of those that have bought the kits that give players the advantage. You should not have to put any pvp-effort towards getting a forum medal for an economy-based server.

If we stick with Economy then then we are missing tons and tons of crowds of people that want PvP/ect. I think that as the server grows, we should, in small ways, make a little push toward other areas, like PvP. Is the longtime goal of ECC to be #1 economy, or #1 Top Max #1 server of all?

Yes I agree, economy should, and always should, be the main focus of ECC. But by adding a little mini-game like SG and then adding a medal won't do any harm.

If we added giant PvP arenas and didn't have McMMO and had tons of PvE arenas and encouraged clans with PvP /kits and ect, and had 20 SG arenas and all that, then I'd object (except for the no McMMO part).

This is just 1 simple medal for being an awesome SG player. Video said "All forum medals should be able to be fairly obtained by anyone." Which doesn't make any sense. We have a medal called "Lucky lotto" and one called "Crazy Lotto". Aka, you have to be lucky to get it, that ain't fair. It isn't fair that Videowiz lives in a mansion with piles of cash and can afford to donate thousands of $$$'s when I can't.

A "Top SG" player medal would be just as fair to get as any other medal.

We shouldn't openly work towards better PvP, but we should have a respectable branch of PvP on our server. Just as we should have a respectable branch of anything, as long as we have a grand super branch of economy. One PvP related medal vs. twenty-one economy related medals.

 

PvP brings in bad people with bad attitudes. If you expect our staff team to be able to ban tons of people, you should also expect cussing to be allowed.
And your statements on video's posts couldn't be more wrong. He was saying all current medals dont give advantages for donators. SG donators obviously have an advantage. Everyone has an EQUAL chance of winning, the lottery medals only giving advantages for those with more money. But real, birthday money is no where clise to hard earned ecodollars being risked.

 

I'm unsure how PvP can bring in angry people, just because we have a few rough n' tough PvP's around here ourselves.

Economy can have just as many angry people in it. You have equal, if not more chance to get angrier with economy than with PvP.

PvP largest problem = Lose all your armor/weapons.

Economy largest problem = Lose months and months of work with a scam, ect.


But I see your right with the last part, Kit users would have an advantage. I'm curious why keeping all medals "fair" be an issue? Medals (basically achievements) are supposed to be hard to get.
