I like the 3 strikes deal. Forum bans need to happen more often to smack some sense into people who just don't listen. Usually it's the same 10 or so doing it too
I like 2 warnings. One warning, then a more formal warning, then a LARGE consequence that people might be scared of.
I've been forum banned before. And for everyone that thinks there is an "infinite" amount of warnings you can receive, that's not the case. Once you get three official warnings, you will receive a 24 hour forum ban. Should be longer in my opinion.
I tend to agree, I think it should be a three day forum temp ban and no in-game ban. That's a fair deal.
If it's a fair deal then I guess the trollers and mini mods shall agree too? The point of a consequence is to make it so that nobody will perform said action again.
The problem with this, is the permissions to make people see but not post also don't let them post threads, either. Some players can also have evidence they want to post, and shouldn't have to go through the trouble of bugging a staff member to let them post this evidence. With your first option, that's too extreme of a punishment. The punishment should fit the crime. If I hack, I'm banned. If I exploit a glitch, I'm banned and money is wiped. If I'm mini modding, I shouldn't be banned ingame. Now forum banned, yes. Some people will just always troll, and upset people. Just gotta ignore them.
But they're also breaking the rules. That rule is not to troll and not post on complaints. In real life, do cops say, "Well, he littered, but... there's always littering going on so we'll let it slip." No. They fine them.
Yes, it takes up staff time and other players time. People are breaking a rule, and it's not being enforced at all.
The system may look a little all over the place but the system works for the most part. Yes some posts slip through the net but most of the time, most posts are reported by you members which is great, it can be monitored by both members and staff. Its one of those responsibilities i am more then happy to take on as a staff member. But i like to also see suggestions from everyone, as its not a perfect method currently, just quite efficient.
So, I'm not really seeing anything here. Works? No. It certainly does not. I see the same people doing the same stuff over and over again. That is not working. Um, taking suggestions from everyone part, I don't like. It seems like I'm being down played, treated like a young'n, and I don't like that. Basically you're saying that this suggestion is useless, if I minus the professional mumbo jumbo.
Im not sure how you got that from my post >.< It certainly doesn't mean that, Im saying it does work because they end up being forum banned over and over, with extended periods of time. I like to listen to everyone suggestions because i dont go ultra defensive when someone doesnt like my suggestions, if you really want a opinion, the 2 options you list are shockingly over the top and if either of them were implemented, then th e system and server would be worse off. If you actually look at the discussion that has taken place, the idea has developed, from other peoples suggestions, that is what i am saying, everyones suggestions on this matter are valued, whether they agree with you or not, so its not useless. Please don't attack my post because i simply dont agree with your suggestion, its not even like i flat out said no either, i want to see what people come up with....
All I have to say is Mission is a mod, and you aren't. He knows what goes on behind the scenes and can make the judgement whether it works. Plus, forum bans are given out pretty often; I actually have reported some trolling and it has resulted in a couple 3 day tempbans, yet no one else outside of me and the mods who handled it knew.
