Well people are getting mad at it for spam and we can't block it because then its useless. I say have a vote because usually its only to spam random stuff and not actually useful stuff. Maybe raise the price?
So why are people complaining. Why have it if its used so rarely? I think that a rule should be put in for spamming /shout its annoying.
I don't have a problem with shouts if anything I like them unless excessively spammed cause I normally leave global and it alerts me when something happening I personally have never used a shout cause I'm cheep but I plan on useing them soon to advertise my town I don't want shouts removed they normally used little enough not to be a bother but used enough to be effective Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Its fine if SG messages are able to be hidden, but shouts are meant to be global, you can leave global chat but you can NEVER leave shouts, its similar to some servers in which they put their 'global' chat with a limited range and force players to use shouts which cost money to broadcast what they want to say.
He asked how to shut off his chat, but still be able to use commands, so I told him how. I never said it wasn't a command.
Shouts are awesome. On the other hand SG messages are annoying.... oh wait. SG messages are annoying people for me. So people are annoyed without me doing anything. That's brilliant.

Personally, I would love a /sg messages, as the spam from SG can be quite annoying. On the other hand, I disagree with a /shout messages (I actually tried this as a resident and wasted 1k.) as the whole point of the shout system and it's 1k cost is to make the whole entire server see it. If you really don't like /shout, go into options, multiplayer settings, and click chat until it is commands only. This will let you do what you need to do on ECC, such as travel around, however it will "disable" shouts and the rest of chat.
Why not change shout to be a adjusting $ amount, I get folks want to shout, but the spamming is getting out of control, so first is 1k, second in 1 min is 3k, third is 10k and so on, so spamming removed even more money and those that do it pay a hefty "penalty". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
