I see a lot of great points from both sides. What bothers me is I see people say take away star tools, take away features, remove nstars. Things people have paid hard earned game and real life dollars. This would piss me off and I think you would lose people. I know all you hardcore pvp'ers would continue to make money hand over fist because you are good at it. I suck at pvp and don't like it. When I joined this server it didn't say I had to be good at pvp to play. There are tons of pvp servers out there I didn't want pvp. I guarantee everyone who is all for pvp in mining is awesome at pvp and sees another way to get 80+k real quick from one kill or they have been here forever and are already established with money and chests of saved items so they can just sit back and not go in the mining world. I think a lot of builders are going to say seeya when one of you rolls in and takes all his tools and mining profit. Then you can all SG on a bigger scale with each other just like the nether until the mining world becomes a wasteland like the nether. Someone said the nether had very little reward that's why its a wasteland. I would disagree I make more money off Quartz blocks than almost anything else people love Quartz blocks. You get lots of xp and can sell truckloads of nether rack to the server plus blaze spawners. I am not sticking my head in the sand thinking there isn't something wrong with the economy but I don't think pvp is the answer. I will definitely will try it out if it happens and if I don't enjoy it anymore I will move on. I was told earlier today I need to deal with change and that's fine but I don't see the pvp'ers handling the past changes very well. My son talked me into coming on here and playing so I did. I have had a blast hanging out on here with him and quite a few of you. He likes pvp but gets really frustrated getting owned by all the guys who have played for a while so he might stay on but probably not. Anyway thanks for reading my post and I hope you have a great day.
So, my 2 cents I'm not quite sure what you're actually suggesting here... you just say that nstars are worth $400 and move on to jobs. As for nstar prices, they're entirely a player based market, the only sinks being star tools and other unobtainable items. But, I remember that I bought resident after like a day or two of mining in the mining world with an unenchanted pick - it doesn't take very long at all if you just start mining. This would only further any kind of rich-get-richer we already have. With ExtCommands++ it's impossible to break a pick, with Pyro/Water+ impossible to die in water/lava/fire/suffocation, Fly+ means no fall damage. The very richest would still have their tools for a very, very long time and all this would accomplish is upset everyone as they could not make money anywhere near as fast as these players and murder the netherstar market. I hate PvP... I can honestly say if I had started out and the only option for mining was in a PvP area, I would've left immediately. Very many players don't like PvP and I think this would be quite a disservice to them. I also don't see how we could "subdivide" 200x200 regions - any kind of grid system is thwarted by pre-existing towns and would take an extremely long time to set up. Probably should include that these are my personal opinions and not "official" staff opinions.
One thing is with the nether stars you just state how it is. You don't really give a suggestion on what to do you just say you can get resident in 12 days. If you can clarify that it would be great. One thing you also say is we should take away star tools which will pretty much destroy the nether star market, so again if you could clarify this it would be great. You also say that many builders see this as the best way to get resident and to make money, however from my experience I have offered to sell plots to many builders in exchange for their nether stars for the day and they don't. When asked why they pretty much gave the answer they didn't want to. While this is solely from my experience this is what I know. You also say that if we put pvp in the mining world there will be more jobs. In theory this could work, but there is a pretty big hole in your plan. You say this will increase the demand, but what about the supply? This would make ore prices shoot up, also because of the star tool thing, as well as exp prices. This mean the rich would really not need to create jobs as they can make a even greater fortune mining. This would decrease the demand for farms and take away a lot of the supply. This creates builders that all they can do is beg for jobs with no answer causing them to quit, therefore this would make conditions worse for builders.
I completely agree with this and Mission's input. Also I see a lot of builders in the mining world playing WITH each other. Going mining together, adventuring together etc. This would make it hard if the mining world was PvP. People would be extremely cautious who to go mining with, seeing as they could turn around and kill them when they please. Also, people would get very very annoyed if they get killed while they have a star tool in the mining world, and they would probably leave the server. I don't see any benefits from getting PvP in the mining world. It would create more grief and stress than is necessary. Notice that the Mining World is called the MINING World. It is for mining and having fun exploring. Not for PvP. I don't know why people are complaining that PvP needs to come back to Mining. There are 4 arena's for PvP. Also about the Exp, I think having exp prices cheap is good. People can get max tools more easily and this makes it easier to work on towns and other projects. I know if I had to clear towns with un-enchanted items, I wouldn't do it. You might say that this creates more job opportunities but than that would be another case of the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I think that this would be too much trouble to implement all these ideas.
Ok I have to say +1 to one half, and -1 to the other. Bring PvP back +1 PvP in mining world, meh Nstar +1/-1 I see where you are coming from but for me, nstars are most of my income. A lot of things have to be done to "Save" EcoCityCraft. You have to start putting more adds out. It's not just because this is offpeak season and not that many people get on, its 252 other problems that I cannot mention and some other things. Because last year at this time, there was 100 people on at like 11pm PST. Now there is somewhere around 60-80. In the day, highest I have seen since whatever caused sh!t to blow up was 200. Last year during this time 200 people was the amount at around 4pm PST and the peak was 250-275 at 12pm PST. During the summer, 400 people peak. 125 people offpeak. Something caused more people to not join and or to not stick around, and that needs to be fixed
-1/+1, I would like to see PvP added back to the mining world. As well, I would like to see the popularity of PvP, in general, rise again. In addition, I like the idea of reducing prices of netherstars. Personally, I feel like making money nowadays is far too easy. By reducing the price, it would add back a bit more of challenge to making money; as well as requiring more hard work to be performed.
Maybe for the Mining World PvP situation we could have 2 different Mining Worlds (1 for builders and another for residents+). If this was the case both could be PvP enabled or 1 could and 1 couldn't. Just an idea
I disagree we can contribute most of the decline of players to real life situations. In many countries our players come from school as started after a break and seeing how a majority of players on our server are students between the ages of 12-18 it makes sense that's the reason it looks like ECC dying.
let me remind you that there is another "place" that has about 50% of the players on here transferring over to them
so, a drop off from 250 players to about 100 players a day. Call that successful? I think not. and with those people that are leaving, their friends will also want to join them. And all of the new players that join ecc due to its features? about 70% will try the other place
Yah there idea was soooo original. They are acting like little 5 year olds. I'm mad at u so I is gonna go make bad rip off server. Shut up for God's sake.
I know im meant to stay neutral and professional and all but your negativity is shocking, All negativity and no answer/suggestions/anything positive. Least these people are discussing this rather then just putting there head in the sand. Other people are allowed to try other places, we need to focus on what we have and what we are offering, So please keep the suggestions coming unlike this dude
The only reason ECC is losing members to that place is because the "popular" users are there. And I personally belive half of those people had nothing to do with the growth of ECC and they did nothing at all. It sucks you know, the "popular" users getting remorse but the lower, not known users that are benifiting the server get no attention, just hate. It really pisses me off. I'm done here for now.
