*Note* This is the 1500 points premium gives; not all trophy points that premium members have. Premium accounts get a bunch of cool things, like the shiny gold name (if they want it), the premium tag on their forum name, but they get 1500 trophy points. Why remove them? It is incredibly difficult to get enough points to get on the notable member list if you don't have a premium account. It's supposed to be difficult, but many people could spend $30 on a premium account and they get 1500 trophy points. No effort at all, essentially free points as a perk for having a premium account. If not remove them, I propose that we potentially find a way to not include premium account trophy points in the notable member list; it's only fair. Or we have 2 tabs; premium member points, and non-premium member points. As someone who has many trophy points but not near enough without a premium account, this makes me sad that I need to spend $30 or posting something every 30 seconds for who knows how long to get the trophies for points. Comments/questions/concerns appreciated.
Just so you know, You'd only be 20th or less if you essentially got the VIP upgrade, so its still incredibly difficult to get onto the notable members even with the 1500 So by that logic, it wouldn't really change much tbh if taken away, There is afterall 11,000 trophy points on offer roughly (as andrew has them all i think) So if someone had every trophy point and not vip, they would place second on the list. So yes it helps having the VIP upgrade, but its not a if you buy it your definitely in I don't mind if its added of taken away though, as i would still be around the top 20 I just see some people wont want this changed, adn going by the swearing on the server suggestion. Its not a big enough majority to change it, so why have the hassle? +1/-1
If you were on the notable members list and your points were removed dropping you from the list - would you be upset?
I would reply by telling that person to earn them without getting 1500 from a premium account - I may have not suggested if it was a lower number, but 1500 is a ton of points that can be obtained a lot faster and easier than by actually posting and obtaining all those ratings and posts made that you need.
It's not free points if you have to spend 30$ to get them Also, I don't understand why it matters so much if you are on the notable members list. Why should we take away a perk of getting a donation feature because other people want to be on a lesser-known list? Aside from the recognition, there aren't really benefits from being there. I don't think it should be taken away, but I would agree that it could be lowered, because even with all these points, 1.5k is the a lot of trophy points at the end of the day.
500 points is what I think would work best, and so I'm neutral on this in a way. It would give perks to the premium account, but not enough so that the premium users are as far ahead as others as they currently are.
Lots of people have bought the premium upgrade simply to get the points. Even though it makes sense to, it won't be removed.
All of the top 20 users currently are Premium Users - I find that a bit too unfair. The forum upgrades, even without the points, are worth $30 at least. I think the amount of points should be 500, not 1500.
Too many people have bought the forum upgrade expecting their extra trophy points. Although this does make sense, to be completely honest, this most likely won't happen.
