Denied [Suggestion] Remove /ci and /clear, Leaving /clearinventory

Lol I've done this before.

This suggestion however is probably up there as one of the most suggested things on the forums if not the most suggested. And it's been suggested so much it just may be the most suggested.

It has also been denied or ignored every time.

So uh +1 I guess. we'll see how long this one lasts before getting denied.

 

Although I don't think I've ever used the command, I can understand the frustration of others. Keeping the command as "/clearinventory" would work great and minimise the errors of people.

 

As usual I'm sure the admins will be in here complaining about how it makes it harder for them to use it.... I'd like at least to see the /clear one gone because like you that can be messed up so easily with the power tool and also bucket commands. This is not one of those things that we need as a money dump, it's frustrating.

Because nobody can accidentally type /clear bucket instead of /bucket clear, right?

 

+1, there's far too many things that can be cleared. /clear is a bad idea

 

I use /ci fairly regularly and would be annoyed if I couldn't.

 

What if just a compromise to remove the /clear part of those commands, so that things like /fill clear and the pt commands don't actually clear your inventory?

 

That's not a short, 3 character command.

 

Maybe /clearinv could work... eight letters, so not crazy long but not crazy short either. The whole point of this suggestion is to avoid accidental problems, and keeping it a three letter command would perpetuate them.

-1 This happened to me once and it sucked but then I learned to never do it again. Let's keep in mind I'm the sort of person who poured probably 100k of money into signs when the glitch that doesn't stop buying when your inventory is full happened. If I can do it, it's fairly easy to remember. However I do have compassion for that first goof up.

I've never done it... but I would be angry, sad and frustrated if I did.
I don't want people to experience that.

/clearinventory should stay a command as it is still used and is a command that does not need to be removed, rather just tweaked. Also, harry mentioned to keep /ci for gameadmins+, which would work great as they are the only ones that seem to be annoyed by this.

 

Guys, /ci doesn't clear items with lore anymore, and hasn't for several months. Andrew loves /ci, as does most of the administration team. Sorry, but this is going to be denied because of how far it's mostly been "idiot proofed"
