Suggestion: To remove the disarming ability in Mcmmo's Unarmed.
Reason: To keep it short and simple, disarming ruins the base of PvP and Mcmmo combat skills.
Let me explain why... and to others who value disarming, please keep an open mind while reading.
-Disarming greatly limits the choices in PvP, and because of it, theres almost no reason to level up other skills.
-With just a few punches, it can leave a user that uses swords, axes, or bows useless, by just taking their weapon.
-Pvp now is simply everyone using Unarmed due to fear of losing their weapons.
-With just a level of 250 Unarmed, one user can practically disarm anyone he wants in the pvp zone.
-Its also fairly easier to obtain a high level of 250 because of the x4 exp leveling.
-High valued swords that you have worked so hard for, or ones that can be worth an easy 20k, can be taken away in a short amount of time.

There are two sides to this argument, some people will say it is getting overpowered for example when someone with high unarmed enters pvp everyone puts their swords/bows/axes away but there is also the argument of a lot of people have spen t numerous hours training just so they can disarm people. I think Andrewkm should do a poll of some sort saying if you would like it to stay or if they want it removing from ECC -

Already hard enough to get to that level so its not very legit unless like 90% of people have like 100% disarm chance :/ -

I just like to PVP. I would be ok with it either way. But I do like to get people's weapons and then sell it back to them :D -

I do really think disarm should be taken out.... If it cannot be removed there is a need, in my opinion, for a nerf on it. You should not be able to run into pvp, hit someone a few times, and take their weapon. While the percentage in the skill description is low, I do believe that it is a much higher chance of getting disarmed than that of which is said in the status description. I don't believe this is luck either because I have heard/seen multiple people get disarmed multiple times quickly by the same person. As well, having the ability of fly/speed allows some users to just speed in, hit until they disarm the person, take their weapon, and then run out of pvp. People should not have to leave pvp just because someone with a high disarm chance is in pvp, and as unknown said, you should not have to use the unarmed skill due to fear of losing your weapon and or having to level there unarmed skill just to have a bit of a chance for them to not be disarmed with iron grip. -

It's hard to say because if you want some ones sword you can go punch them and they drop it and the other side will lose their sword that they worked so hard on just think about it people! -

Not sure if it will happen. but i am for it. I think the best solution would be to have a dev hard-code into it to change the disarm from unarmed to swords skill. this way you MUST have asword to disarm, and you can get disarmed by someone elses sword, and swords for mctop is relatively low. However a simple remove would work as well. -

I feel the need to mention that this thread is not whining about disarm, but actually being seriously worried. I am going to make a huge post now because I was unable to talk on ventrilo when people were claiming it was just people whining, not to mention I also saw that Andrew mentioned the thread and nobody helped say just how bad disarming is. I honestly feel the only way this will happen now is if people understand the whole point of this thread and the severity of the problem.
To start - Have you ever gone into PvP with your enchanted sword and just had someone swoop in take it and run out? If not, put yourselfs into the shoes of someone it happened to. How would you feel if you just wanted to PvP and instead got 20k taken from you instantly with no warning and no way to prevent it without putting it away completely?
There is no other skill in mcmmo combat that allows you to run out of PvP stronger or otherwise having "won" without killing the opponent. It can happen in one hit, it can make people lose massive amounts of money instantly, and it even completely scares everyone out of PvP.
Just earlier, I saw vdubmastertech walk into PvP with three people in diamond armor in the safe zone... Instantly, all three left. Nobody fights people with high unarmed levels because of disarming in PvP. Like splash potions, it can happen instantly and unexpectedly, and cause you to lose lots of money... That was good enough for the removal of splash potions.
Also, check the /mctop unarmed. Now, check /mctop swords, /mctop axes, and /mctop archery. Tell me now, what has the most high levels? Unarmed is actually slower to level up than the others, yet everyone prefers it over everything else. There is obvious balance issues here.
On top of that, you cannot beat someone with unarmed if they have a high enough level. Let's say I'm fighting sitomo who has probably at least a 20% chance of disarm in PvP. I'll use my axes... Nope, disarmed in 5-20 hits, which is less than the average battle, and he has my axe and has won. Swords? Nope, still the same outcome. Even archery you have arrow deflect for. Even if not, he can always flee and try again. He doesn't even need to ever kill me and he has gained a huge profit for running. You are supposed to stay and fight to the death, not run every few hits to avoid dying and still making huge profits.
As well, the amount of people actually PvPing for real and in armor now has greatly decreased. mrpublic for example nearly never fights for real in PvP anymore, he just goes in in no armor and attempts to disarm you. I don't want to fight people who give me no benefit for killing them just to have them eventually take 20k from me. I had no chance to get anything, but they managed to not only get in the way in PvP, but also took a sword worth 20k from me.
Now, take my axes level. I can greatly increase it's usefulness by leveling it up. Now, take my unarmed level... What reason do I have to increase it? I have maximum damage from it, which is 4 hearts I believe, and I've managed to take several swords with 20k even though I hardly use it. In fact, without fly, I managed to take a 20k sword from someone who has fly in PvP just a few days ago. Do I deserve 40k for spending 5-10 hours leveling and maybe an hour of PvPing? Maybe. Do I deserve to abuse this and scare everyone away while making hundreds of thousands more ecodollars? Nope. Swords, archery, and axes all get much better and are as useful as level 250 unarmed once you get to like level 850ish, but they still don't have the cheap run in, run out, and repeat until you make 20k.
As I've said before as well, unarmed beats every skill... My axes can't break his armor or kill him fast enough before he disarms me, swords can't kill him fast enough (And is extremely risky and stupid to try anyway.) And archery gets blocked a lot and just him getting to me once ends that completely. At least archery, axes and swords form a triangle.
Swords > Axes. Swords manage to kill the axe man before the damage to the armor is too much. Counter attack and bleed make for a great hit and run tactic and are almost as effective in just a straight up all out fight. Axeman will eventually kill themselfs from counter attack.
Axes > Archery. Archers like to attack from a distance, but axeman aren't about being at one... Axeman get up in your face and make you wish you never chose archery. They break your armor piece by piece and make you weak, then finish you off, while you struggle to hit the axeman who is running towards you at full speed.
Archery > Swords. Swordsman are great for hit and run strategies, but when you are running, you aren't hurting the archery much, and you give them plenty of time to hit you with their bow. The only way to beat one with swords is to go all out like an axeman, but as long as they can keep getting away, they don't have to worry about the permanent damage that the axe leaves to your armor as much, and can come out on top if they are skilled.
Unarmed > Swords, Archery, Axes. You disarm them... No matter the skill, if you are evenly leveled... You still get disarmed first. Even if you don't, he can run and do it again, probably with a different outcome. Worst part is, it costs them almost nothing to get back into PvP. -

also the other day i was in pvp with a sharpness IV fire aspect II knockback II sword this kills people with no armour in 2 hits but...... bradjoehen comes in i have no idea how high his unarmed is so he disarmes me before i caan kill him runs away this swoed is like worth 20-40k
and just a tip i now always keep 2 d swords with me.lol. just incase i get disarmed
(the day i lost that sword i lost 80k in one day. lol )

I whole heartedly agree with the removal of disarming, not just because I've lost some fairly nice things to it but because I know loads and loads of people constantly lose things to disarming. Disarming takes the fairness of PvP with MCMmo of the triangle of damage types and just flips it on its head, by completely removing your damage source almost completely if you don't also have high level unarmed skill. If you take a person with with high unarmed verses a person with high sword/axe/archery level, the person with unarmed would win simply because they can take away the other person's source of damage with only a few hits. -

I agree that unarmed should be removed. And igorvanloo, I just had that same sword taken in the exact same situation.
