+1 I dont care if you hacked for your entirety on ECC or for 5 minutes, you had the audacity to use hacks and exploit them for an unfair advantage. I feel hackers get let off wayyy too easily. Doesn't matter what you say you did, you used hacks on ECC, therefore be ready to face some serious consequences. As I said, hackers get let off way to easily and this needs to be addressed, a reset of stats would be good, but that doesn't account for all the unfair money gaining.
For 1st to 3rd offenders? So after someone CLEARLY doesn't give a (censor) about following the rules we should just keep letting them back in? I say if you hack once there should be a small penalty, and twice should be SG stat wipe
For a first time offender this seems harsh and from what Nicit said, basically impossible. However, financial and medal consequences should be in place. You can make millions of ECD hacking and then take a 3 day ban or whatever. That's simply unfair to those that work hard and play fair in SG.
Gahahahaha! So, if you work honestly for X days and X years, all that jazz... then why the heck are you hacking?!
As if they never even happened.. So those 730 days of hard work should now give you the right to hack without severe consequences? If you don't want to loose those 730 days of hard work, you don't hack. That's it. Overall the suggestion is too harsh for first time offender. But when you take the hacking road second time, you are very aware that it is wrong (you have been banned for it before), you know what's at stake and if you do get caught, wipe it all!
That's extremely incorrect. I disagree with this being done on the first offense. In your case, it was accidental, from what we can tell. However, second offense, there is no excuse there.
Not the best choice of words on my part I guess. His intentions were not to hack, he forgot to remove them when he got on. Either way, it's unacceptable.
I was just quoted like, three times. You all said pretty much the exact same thing I was trying to say.... First offenders should get a small penalty (in my case I lost the sg boss medal) then after a few (1+) times there should be a larger punishment... You guys, we're talking in circles here.
I personally do not think a light punishment like removing the SG boss medal is viable, they still have all that illegally obtained money and stats, and have hurt other players as well as the economy. I do to see why we are arguing on the supporting side of hackers, no one like a hacker since they are harmful and shouldn't be brushed aside so easily
First of all, don't use hacks. Not that hard. And It should be more as 2nd offender should get wiped.
We've been looking into this and pretty much all of the staff agree that it is a good idea, we're just looking into the best way to do it with our current sg stats setup. Similarly, not entirely sure yet what the best amounts are. Perhaps 50% reduction for 1st time, then 100% for repeat offenders? Again, still in the thinking phase rather than actually having something decided upon to implement.
@Dewsy92 would you be able to change the stats manually by actually going into the coding of the site? I haven't looked at the source code yet so idk how hard that would be
You could go into the actually plugin code and have it happen that the stats are multiplied by 0.5 if a specific command is issued and by 0 if another is, basically like getting a legendary kill just you are losing points
How about we increase the length of hacking tempbans along with making it much harder to appeal. This along with nerfing sg rewards would heavily discourage hacking. Like 7 days for first, 4 weeks for second, and permanent for third.
