How easy is it to find a town portal right now? Even if you know the level and the color you still normally can't run straight to it (unless you frequently go there) Not only would this idea help people get to your town faster, it would do it in style. It would also help to generate money with an increase in plot sales. The portals that had their own rooms would be the portals people would wander into first. (when I was a builder, I remember going to random towns just exploring, but many of them were abandoned)
I think the inactive for somewhere between 2-6 weeks to have your portal removed is a great idea but I don't think that renting out a town portal is a good idea. Plus, what would you do with the portals that people payed 75k for.
if we did not need to buy it weekly i would don't mine but users payed for the portals and i think they would like to have a refund (if payed in over 7.5 weeks ago lol) besides that it woukd turn in to shops
kuke i love this idea. i've never bothered to apply for a portal cause i don't believe they encourage random users to visit unless your portal is on the top level first row. the way i see it, new players prob enter a few of those portals and find abandoned towns then never bother to go to the portal room again unless it is for specific access to a town. most of the arguments in this thread relate to how unfair it would be to pay weekly and what about current portals... this suggestion does not imply the current portals would be affected, there would be 10-20 additional portal rooms that could be rented out and customised like the spawn shops. these portal rooms would be positioned in a high traffic area - like a hallway to the current portal rooms. $5k - $10k per week would be reasonable as there would be high returns for the mayor with new players buying plots in the active towns. the rent style app like spawn shops would ensure the towns have an active mayor.
i think this is smart having kind of like vip portal maybe if we changed the top floor of the portal room to have like 8 vip portals and maybe in the middle andrew could pick a town every month to showcase and then have a ladder to the current portals
Okay, I must say this is an absolutely fantastic idea. I think that this would be a great way for certain people to show off what their town is before someone even enters it. For instance, I am buying a portal for my castle soon. When I do that, if these portals were available, I would be able to make a medieval themed portal room. This type of portal room system would give players a taste of what is beyond the portal without them having to go through it. I approve completely. Revanrose6
PROS: -Easier to get to -MUCH MUCH MUCHHHHH better than getting a very low portal -takes money out of the economy CONS: -Quite expensive -Quite laggy as this would require a lot of word guards I'd have to -1 this suggestion. Town plot sales are almost impossible. On the rare occasion in a fancy town, you may get a large sale, in a small, resident town, you get the returning resident for a new plot or just their friends, in a builder town, you'll get a lot of customers, but most will be broke or will grief you shortly after they buy. The only people who I believe would find this practical would be the luxury towns/shoptowns.
I think this could be a nice change, though I don't really like the weekly pay bit, maybe when the portal rooms run out of space? I already paid 75k for that sob, I'd rather not have to pay another 40k or so each week...
It's basically a sort of premium portal, there's a limited amount and they stand out more. This is a way to bring attention to your town, as well as a way of presenting your town, it could be more appealing to people.

You completely misunderstand, you don't have to pay for your normal portal, this is an extra portal. A premium portal. Like I stated in the suggestion..
