You get to play on undoubtedly the best minecraft server to date, and still you ask for more?

 

I disagree with this sorry. It was completely out of Andrew's control and he spent a considerable of time trying to chase up the situation. Considering he is supposed to be on vacation at the moment, I completely disagree with asking him to compensate users for a situation out of his control when he did everything he could do on behalf of the community.

 

It is not andrews fault whatsoever that the server was down. It was the server's host fault. I do not see any reason therefore to seek compensation for the downtime, and I won't be asking for any either.

 

Like dewsy and HCP have already said. This offline time was completely out of andrew's control. It was the host's fault. Andrew even spent time on his vacation on a cruise ship keeping track of everything and contacting support from intreppid/staminus and cox about the outage and informing users on twitter. Andrew spent time worrying about his server and that's all the compensation we need. Andrew's time is the compensation.

 

As the others have said, it was not Andrew's fault, therefore he owes us nothing. Consider his dedication to the server - you know, being in the middle of the ocean trying to get things fixed... - the compensation. Andrew should honestly be rewarded for his effort and time, not the userbase.

Also, he still bothered to put up the Easter Sale, even after Easter. If anything, consider that "compensation."

 

It doesn't have to 'come' from him, but what I meant (and what I think the others meant too) is that I feel like andrew has already done enough for us by trying to get the server back online asap by attempting to contact the relevant people etc. The fact that he spent a lot of time should be enough to keep people here, as there is nothing better than a dedicated server owner who cares enough to spend his vacation trying to sort it out when really it was out of his control.

Also, it was *only* just over 24hrs. ECC rarely, if ever, has downtime that long. In my opinion it wasn't a long enough period to feel like you should be compensated, especially with the circumstances as explained well above.

No way this will ever happen. Sorry, this only encourages people to go inactive for "x" amount of time to be given money to them. Also, money needs to be taken out, not put it.

 

I don't agree with that statement. It wasn't andrew's fault, if anything, Intreppid should compensate andrew.

 

Yeah, seriously. Andrew really devotes himself. Besides, it's a game, do you really expect something because a game went down?
