What type of things i think jamie by himself is not enough

 

If I'm honest, I'm not entirely sure what. Lately it has been the EULA stuff, before that the Network that has been in progress for about a year. If you are saying Jamie is not enough to be the only Developer/ person who changes stuff, I agree with you.

 

what is sad is that we have a suggestion about suggestions we seriously need more devs.

 

Its not so much developers. It's people with experience with servers to assist in making change that we need.

 

I like this idea but I think we currently lack the bodies to make such a thing do the thing we want it to do, which is implement changes. Right now I think it would just cause a lot of "Well that sounds good hopefully get to it" from poor overworked Nicit/Jaime/etc.

Yeah pretty much hit the nail on the head. If you wanna go read through my staff app one of my goals as staff is to implement more stuff. But right now with the current body level I spend a lot of time head under water in just regular work. And I'm just a blue scrub. I can only fathom what nicit/clar/oreo/jaime/andrew are looking at per day commitment. I wish I was better at programming or something, I hope to improve this situation. I'd love to see the users seeing more of their suggestions implemented as soon as humanly possible because I think it's the backbone of keeping ecc alive. But I just think that currently forcing an extra job on them to comment on them is probably not going to currently get us anywhere... Soon hopefully the workload will improve.

 

You bring up very valid points. I admire your post. I have a question, who can actually change things on the server? ie. Who has the power to physically implement the changes that are listed in the original post:

These are all pretty simple changes, and they haven't been implemented yet.

 

+1. Also, a lot has been said about how there is no time to add these but come on... Some of these take no time at all to add if they were accepted. Lets look at the list Phantomine added. I can understand the ones where Dev work is needed being ignored but most of them are very basic.

1. Not sure how exactly this works but I can't imagine it takes more than 5 mins to change a block value.

2. A half hour on the Wiki and reformatting Apps?

3. Just another value change. 5 mins?

4. Just add a channel its not hard.

5. Basically instant? 5 mins to change guidelines.

6. 15 mins changing signs at spawn.


This totals up to idk a couple hours tops once a month or so. Doesn't seem very unrealistic to me.

Takes about 5 minutes max to add a TeamSpeak channel.

 

Okay, this is going to kind of be a FOR THE PEOPLE'S post because I feel like I'm kind of tossing responsibilities on my "betters" that is perhaps not a kind thing to do at this moment, but I want to be a FOR THE PEOPLE moderator so I will do my best to answer your question, but please keep in my mind that I am not 100 percent certain OR an authority on the situation. And please also keep in mind that the moderators, each and everyone one of them right now, is working hard, I can vouch for that. As you've noticed, we've lost a lot of valuable bodies.

This I believe only andrew or Jaime could do. Not 100 percent sure.

I believe GAs could do this, but I imagine SA's etc would have to agree it wouldn't wreck the economy or not, GAs couldn't go rogue and do that, wiki would have to be updated.

I believe that would be a decent amount coding from Jamie or KHobbits, not sure.

I believe anyone could make that change, but I believe many of the ones that are locked are locked preemptively by SAs to avoid issues they perceive will come from the threads they lock. I don't personally have the experience to say that their judgement is wrong, they all have much more experience than me.

GA+ could do that, of all the complaints I see this as the most simple/obvious/should be addressed.

Even blues could do this and I personally would not mind doing so, but it's a policy change so it takes time for SAs to post it so we are all on the same page about it.

 

If it is only a value, then it wouldn't take long. Just editing the current value that is in the plugin, I think.

 

Due to my extremely limited experience in coding even relatively simple plug-ins, I am simply ignorant of that one. The only thing I do know is that our devs are pretty busy so there is some level of excuse in not getting to vital issues on their side. We don't even have the end opened yet, I can't imagine that being their priority. But you are more likely correct than I when it comes to programming, even editing most likely.

 

What we need to do is stop neglecting the suggestions. There's a great one right now to raise fish prices.

Only 1 in maybe 7 suggestions actually get noticed by the SAs.

 

Let's not bash the SAs. I agree this needs to be addressed ASAP but let's remember we just went through 1.9 and the EULA situation, and the boosters. nicit spent what must have been mind numbing hours updating the ENTIRE /buyfeature sections of the wiki and the GAs helped proof it. Oreo and clar get down to business everyday too, trust me. We do not have layabout SAs that is NOT the case but as soon as all the new stuff is ironed out and we get some new bodies in here I think this stuff needs to be addressed.

 

Yes but what you are forgetting is this problem existed long before eula or 1.9.

+1, my Increasing Fish Prices post has recieved fantastic poll data, over 93%, and this could certainly help us in our quest for higher fish prices.

 

Any form of suggestion over the past year just seems to have been matched with an excuse of either hub or EULA, I wish the administration would see that neither of those matter if the players just get bored of the server as all the suggestions are just being ignored leaving the server dull.

+1, I did not know suggestions were Ignored until now. I thought they waited like 6 months or something.
