I'm not a troll, you're irrational. If you look where you're going, you'll be fine. I don't understand why you're so irrational about this. I'm biting my tongue on flipping out.
I changed that bc just after i posted that i realized that is was uncalled for if you would like to see what i changed it to i am putting it below.
Many people dig straight down because it requires less block breaking than digging a staircase. A staircase is at least 3 times as many blocks to break to get down to the same level, and that can break your pick much faster. I personally try to plug up my digging holes (although mine are 2x1 so that i can make sure im not digging into lava/etc) a few blocks at the top (2-3 deep) so that people dont fall in them while running around. Furthermore, it would be very hard to moderate this if it was implemented. A supermod would have to log block any hole that was found, warn/ban as appropriate (if the logs are still there) and then fill up the hole so as to not go back to the same spot over and over again. It's too much work for something that can be prevented by just watching where you are going. That is just my opinion though.
I see no point in having this rule. As Clou said, it would create more work for the SMods+, it is peoples preference as to how they mine (although mining down is not advisable!), plus if you don't like the way the mining world is set out, go on to farming (cocoa farming is good) or SG. I doubt this rule will ever be implemented. -1
ok, even if it was suggested to new players in he rules page to make some sort of warning that there is a hole. When you become a staff member you expect more work on the server. Also farming is as boring as watching grass grow, and sg you cant win if someone has kits.
If I have no home set in the mines, I do the same as @gstoner3 when I enter from ladn. Dig straight down, but always cover the top when i am 3-4 blocks down. But I usually do enter from the ocean bottom and dig 1x1 from there since the water helps with fall damage and it also kills lava, should you encounter it on your way down. The thing here to consider is that most 1x1 holes are not intentional player traps, but just careless tunnels to y11. @legotom001 The easiest way to prevent this from happening is to watch your step, which is kinda common sense in the wilderness..
Exactly, but more work (in addition to the extra work that you already have to do) that is not necessary, means that it likely won't get done. I know this because as an SA I had so much work that it could not all be done, so you have to decide which is most important. And when you do that, people start to yell at you for not doing your job. Which is incredibly annoying when you are spending all of your time in game on your job.
Then if there are so meany things needed done, the owners should have staff for a few things and not every thing.
I did as you suggested and made its own suggestion, here is the link if you would like to look at it. http://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-less-staff-work-with-more-staff.118643/
