How do you want it to work?
Not being able to start CREATIVE flying could work, but you can't block people with flymods. It's impossible.
Do you want it to make people fall when they fly into that region? What about people who use a flymod? We can't use nocheat in a region based setup to prevent someone from flying in that part. There's also the problem of potential traps for flying people. Make them fall to their deaths when they come into that region.
Or do you want people to not be able to enter that area while flying? What about someone who gets teleported in while flying? And how are we going to detect people with flymods and how are we preventing them from flying inside the region?

Simply put, it's impossible to do.

 

Although if it were simply and easily possible, what would be your opinion?
I think I like this idea, but have to agree that it would be undo-able.

Im up for it if it is only in PvP arenas, I hate it when nunbs fly up

 

This would be good for a parkour town or area. If theres a reward you get like a nstar if you finish fly would be cheating and would ruin the whole point. We cant stop fly mods but other things you can make it work. If you are teleported into the area you will teleport to the ground where you were flying. If you fly into the region you will be teleported to the ground from the air.

Sounds impossible, and even it were possible to squeeeeze all that in there, the bug possibilities are endless.

 

I would also like to add to what Kuke said.

1) I paid $60 to fly and I don't think it is fair to donators to suddenly ground them
2) I can actually see this backfiring on the town owner. Lets say he applies for it and then realizes he needs to fly to do certain things. You can have the thing turned off, but then its another 40k to turn it back on.
3) I feel the need to stress what Kuke said, people could die. A lot of people.
4) We would need a static map with no fly zones marked.
5) Just no.

I say you get a choice when applying for a pvp arena that you get a choice to disable fly, but then I also say using the worldguard plugin when you enter the area it gives you 5 seconds to leave or your fly will be terminated and you will fall, I see this as one of the only ways of this working.

 

Well that's just a bit easy to cheat. Unless you added just one tweak.

If it gave you 5 seconds to stop flying, that just means you can fly for 5 seconds at a time. Aka, fly for 4 seconds, stop, fly for 4 more, stop, fly again. Unless you could only start flying outside the arena. If you can't start flying inside the arena that would be fixed.

But you still have one problem. I could easily buzz in and out of the arena at high speed. Buzz in, 5 secs left, SMACK, buzz out, buzz in, 5 secs left, SMACK. Repeat until the guy is dead.

 

I meant 5 seconds until fly was terminated and disabled as in not allowed to turn it on -.- and turning it off just makes the countdown goes straight to 0

 

Yes but I could leave the arena, turn on fly, and fly back in.

 

most arenas have walls on outside
and I think it better if it just TP you to the ground
