    I am suggesting the MyHorse plugin

    What it does is you can take ownership of a horse you find and you own it
    You can take back ownership, kill the horse, tp it to you, it's really cool.

    This could also demolish horse stealing because if you are the owner then the mods+ could tell that it's your horse.

    But if you did not take ownership then it's your fault.

    Quote from the bukkit page:
    Select your horse

    Simply mount your horse to select it as your currently selected horse.
    By default, only the owner can mount his horse.
    Naming

    To name your selected horse simply use the command:
    /myhorse name <horsename>
    When your horse has a name, it is only ridable by you
    Anti Theft

    After taming your horse, the horse is "locked" and can only be used and accessed by its owner. To allow others to use your horse, use the commands:
    /myhorse lock /myhorse unlock
    Come here!

    After selecting your horse, you can summon it to you with the command:
    /myhorse comehere
    My horses?

    See a list of your owned horses with the command:
    /myhorse list
    Goto my horse!

    After seeing the list of your horses, you can goto any of them with command:
    /myhorse goto <id>
    Set a new owner for your horse

    After selecting your horse, you can set a new owner for it with the command:
    /myhorse setowner <ownername>
    Go away!

    Set your selected horse free with the command:
    /myhorse goaway

    They also could disable any unneeded features like comehere or whatever but that's up to the owner.

    It possibly could, I was on a server elsewhere (will not name) but it had economy, lwc, essentials, parties, and it also had mob arena, sg, pretty much all the plugins ecc has other than bounty, so it could possibly work but I'm not one to say.
    It had MyHorse also.

    If you download it there could be the code, but I don't know how developing works so I'm not one to say, though inside it (read the link) you can edit a bunch of stuff inside the plugin so I'm guessing that you get the source code with the plugin but I'm not one to say.

    They'd probably disable /myhorse comehere and /myhorse goto (or link it to tp/tp+), but I like this a lot! +1!!!

    Generally if a plugin or mod doesn't have open source code, it would be damn hard to get it.

    Open source code means people can access the code, see it, and change it, without breaking Copyright laws or getting into trouble. Think of code like art; steal it, and you will have problems. As well, if Andrew just took a code, he will not know what is it in - anything could mess with stuff on ECC.

    Far as I know, github stuff is open source; so unless something is on github, Andrew probably won't use it.

    If you would like a horse protection plugin, go through a bunch of plugins listed here. Only consider ones that are open source. They will usually have a link to their github.

    It is your responsibility to look after your horse, if it gets stolen that's your own fault.

    That's like saying if you don't protect your house on a plot in a town it's your fault if it gets griefed.

    But griefing in a protected area is not legal whilst stealing a horse is legal. Horse stealing shouldn't have a ban-able offence because some people complain about their horse being stolen, in the end its your choice whether you leave your horse in your town in the open or in a secure and unbreakable stable.
