Suggestion: When you decide if a moderator or an applicant has enough play time or not, you should also consider the other mods you have and their usual play time. Not simply the hours that they put in, but also who else is on during those hours. The earlier hours in EST are usually the hours we need moderators the most. I often see times that moderators are not on or simply too busy to monitor chat. And yet again another day of flame wars commences. This is terrible for new players to walk in on. There's only so much the community can do on it's own, and that's when we need the moderators to step in.
Reason: There are more than enough mods for the later hours and not enough for the early hours. We need more moderators for these "low mod times". This is obviously a must as nearly everyday I play the same things happen.
Any Other Information: I think I've made my point.

I agree, with my timezone there is a lot of times where there are no mods. This would be very good.

I suggest that a moderator be appointed to keep track of everyone's timezone. Perhaps on a spreadsheet. Honestly I don't know if Wewin would have time to do that so I would recommend a willing Mod or Super such as Skylexia, Ragman, Video, or Kmax.
Keeping a standard document like that would really help put timezones into perspective. Giving the staff a much easier way to determine when mods are needed most.-

The only problem with that would be the times during which people play during their time zones. I personally am EST, but play during downtime and uptime...so this sheet would need to include approximate time periods the staff play during

I have no idea why you would even consider taking anything in this post personally. You should not, nor should any of the other mods or Andrew. I'm stating obvious facts and trying to suggest we get a solution as soon as possible. -
Firstly, online time is based on other IRL factors. I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but the job that keeps me in home, fed and with internet access affects when I can and cannot be online.
No mod can be online all the time, we are human after all, and even if we did consider new mod applicants based on when they could be online, in addition to all the other factors already considered, it's likely there would be less mods than we have now, due to those coverage issues.
If there are people deliberately starting arguements, or other types of issues that are not allowed, when a mod is not present, or is present but overwhelmed, take a screenshot for evidence and file a complaint. Perhaps it isn't an immediate solution, but it can still affect the way those people play on the server, and what behaviour is or isn't tolerated. If you do not wish to do that, there is always the /ignore command, so that you no longer see those users. Failing that, you could leave the chat channel.
There are many ways of dealing with a problem that you have, instead of relying on a moderator for every little thing. I don't want to start an arguement, nor encourage one regarding this suggestion, and if it's needed I can do a compilation of what hours each mod expects to be online... however, mod activity is already tracked, based on the staff standards, and those that fail to meet those requirements, with a valid reason given in advance, are removed from the staff roster. -
Also, I understand the process of how to file complaints about other users. I was also a moderator. Yet none of this has to do with my point either.
Without an active moderator online to handle these situations properly, this can continue for hours until it is handled. During this time, things can get out of control and upset other users. People can be turned away from the server because they logged into the middle of a 30 minute flame war between 3-4 users.
Also, I know that moderator play times are tracked. I know the requirements, and how things are handled if the standards are not met. It is clearly listed in the staff application section. -

This is a good suggestion
But spreadsheets? I think that is going to far lol -
A spreadsheet could also help track the time they say they will be off, just as well as the time they claim to be on. Line up that with what they've said and it will show you very quickly who's doing what. And a review of forum activity is more than enough to see what's going on with the forums. That's why there's a layered rank system. Some people are there to monitor others, not do the job of others.-

I think this is a great idea because i've probably spent like 2 days all together so it would be eay for some of us to get mod easier
