They're discussing a kind of mob arena, not the mob arena plugin. This appears to be a different idea.
Due to Andrew not wanting to bring in alot of money, I would suggest rewards being set up as follows: Wave Rewards: Wave 1-5 ($10 per wave reward) Wave 5-10 ($20 per wave reward) Wave 10+ ($25 per wave reward) Survivor reward: 1st place: 25*amount of players in game 2nd place: 12.5*amount of players in game 3rd place: 6.25*amount of players in game
I also suggest a reward for kills based on the amount of mobs per wave (if alot, maybe $1-2 per kill if not alot, $5 per kill)
Thank you all very much for your feedback. Before we spend time going any further, I'd like feedback from staff members. I'd like to know whether or not ECC is interested in a game like this. Edit: Forgot to add that donation features will work well with this. Here is what I've put together for Draft #2. The Mob Arena: A new mini-game. 1. Mob Arenas will be large, no-build-perms battlegrounds containing chests with food, armor and weapons. 2. No items shall be brought in to or out of Mob Arenas. 3. PvP will be disabled within Mob Arenas. 4. Mob Arenas will host games in which the ultimate goal is to survive 10 rounds of mob-spawning. 5. Each game shall consist of 10 rounds, or 'mob waves' of hostile mob-spawning, each separated by a peaceful break. 6. No player will be able to camp in an invulnerable spot to survive a mob wave. 7. Each game shall begin with an introductory, peaceful break period lasting for five minutes. 8. The introductory period will begin when the first player joins the game. 9. Additional players shall be able to join the game during the introductory period, the time-remaining to be visible from a Mob Arena hub, similar to our Survival Games hub. 10. All players will spawn in random locations upon joining The Mob Arena, be given an inventory of one leather chestplate, one wooden sword enchanted with Unbreaking I, and 5 apples, and will be free to move and access chests. 11. Successive mob waves will increase in duration and difficulty, while successive break periods will decrease in duration. (Below is a rough draft of lengths and difficulties.) 12. The game will end one of two ways: <The game has not reached the end of Round #10, but no players are left surviving> OR <Players survive throughout Round #10, are declared to have won, and are teleported out of the arena> 13. The end of mob waves #1 through #9 shall be a '/butcher' of all mobs. 14. Also at the end of mob waves #1 through #9, players will be re-spawned in random locations in the arena. 15. Mob Arenas shall contain fewer numbers of chests than Survival Games maps. 16. Locations of Mob Arena chests shall be dangerous areas. (Parkour, lava, webs, traps, etc...) 17. Chests will restock upon each '/butcher-ing' of mobs. 18. During mob waves, it will be nighttime. During peaceful breaks, daytime. 19. At the beginning of peaceful break #1 and all subsequent peaceful breaks, one villager will spawn in a loaded chunk of the Mob Arena. 20. If this villager remains alive come the end of the succeeding mob wave, there will be a reward given to all players who are also left surviving at the end of said mob wave. (Rough draft of rewards listed below.) 21. Players will not be able to trade with villagers. 22. At the end of a game, that Mob Arena will be reset and re-opened for new players to join a new game. 23. There shall be several Mob Arenas available to join, and a rotating set of Mob Arena maps. 24. Each Mob Arena will have a dedicated ECC Teamspeak channel. 25. A Mob Arena Leaderboard with ranks and points shall reflect players' success in The Mob Arena. (See below.) 26. This will probably be included in the multi server plan, along with prop hunt (suggestion found here) and other minigames.
James4747 7,673 ECD for each surviving players seems very large, unless it takes up to 30minutes to complete the arena
could be too large. i think it will be hard to gauge pay-outs until the game is put together and tested. A full game takes 37 minutes from start to finish, and to survive all 10 rounds is meant to be damn near impossible - and really really really damn near impossible to save 9 villagers. a very large pay-out for a very rare success is the idea behind this
This looks like a great idea and I would love to see it implemented into the server! But I think the payouts are a bit to big, even if it's supposed to be very hard. There are some VERY good PVP-ers that could easily survive 10 waves each time which could inflate the economy. Other than that? andrewkm you have to see this
I think this is a great ideas I would to have other minigames on ECC it would make your time on ECC more fun. Also if you put it on your advertisements and it might draw more users to ECC.
