Fishing drops with McMMO are iffy, as finding a good balance between dropping and rarity is nigh-impossible. As much as we would all like free goodies, think about how many items will be brought in by a single person alone; and then expand it to every player that will eventually get 600+ fishing. Lots and lots of things.
I always preferred implementing a system for a "double drop" of fish as a percentage based chance from your level / 2, as then not only is it helping speed up leveling, but also pump out some extra cash. Also, it doesn't ruin the market for everything else because of how buggy minecraft fishing can be. -
The same is true for iron and gold drops, but they're not really worth anything, and will become true for diamond drops if they're implemented so in actuality it wouldn't change a thing really. As well getting to 600+ fishing now that auto fishing is bannable will take many months of constant fishing, just getting to where I am at 783 took almost a year alone(granted I wasn't fishing for a little while).

I fully agree with this fish sells for $10, if someone has spent so much time fishing they deserve the bonus.

I currently see no point in training fishing, but, if certain things were to be added, as suggested, I would feel significantly more inclined.
