[Suggestion] Make all forum warnings publicly visible.

As I said, the publicly written warnings are just like our global warnings. In comparison when we kick a person which is essentially what the official warnings are, we don't do that publicly.

 

I'm not talking about channel kicks, I mean kicks from the server.

 

I disagree. These are actions that moderators take while doing their job that are not open to the public. In fact the majority of our actions are not public knowledge. Why should the forum system be any different. I just don't see why we should publicly air another person's wrong-doings. Just because its on the forum does not make the issue any less between staff and that person. The forum is an extension of the server and I personally feel that it is the right thing to do as we are currently handling it.

Well I will consider your suggestion, but, the issue here is that staff discretion plays a role in that type of thing. We are given discretion on a lot of stuff, that is one of them. The only way that is going to change is if Sky or Andrew decide that "Xyz is exactly how we are going to hand forum issues." Then ofc, we will all have to conform to that.

 

Just like real life, police release data saying "The criminal is in custody" or "currently being prosecuted." If they said nothing, we would start to doubt the police ability and more people would take risks. It's the same here- if the users have no idea that the user has received consequences. They may try these things and people would start to doubt the staff ability to be able to handle issues if there is no actual proof. For another real life analogy, when Bin Laden was killed, people needed to see pictures or they wouldn't believe that it actually happened.
