I understand that it happens, but we can't have someone perma-banned for the situation i stated, and the rule you are suggesting simply would allow that.

If the user has committed the same offense multiple times, they generally continue to get banned. Eventually, they will either take a hint, or get caught in a bad enough one to get perma-banned.

    So different types of strikes.
    The idea is still sound.
Honestly, your example would be a very very rare occurrence.
It doesn't really matter anyways. Nothing is going to change. People are going to continue to do whatever the eff they want to do and staff is powerless ( or doesn't care enough ) to do anything about it.

I feel like what most people fail to see is a few things:
    1) a ban is a ban. Whether it is issued for minor grief, or a scammed melon sword, you have doled out equal punishment in both scenarios. A serial minor griefer obviously doesn't give a crap whether he's banned or not. And if he did, he wouldn't do stupid things like that.

    2) Community is key for donations. Yeah, the now-permabanned players occasionally donate large sums of money. But you drive away the people who ACTUALLY care about the community and keeping it together. These people would be more than willing to donate to a server full of friendly people.

    3) Get the repeatedly banned players out in the sun for a bit. If you really think a 3-day tempban is "harsh punishment" you obviously have an enormous sense of entitlement, and a severe lack of even the slightest bit of reality
