At some point, people just need to acknowledge the fact that no one plays SG any more. In large part, this is because of kits. I don't play SG at all, I just listen when people talk. People with kits will not be losing anything they haven't already lost.

A kit that gives you an advantage in an empty arena is no better than not having a kit, but having a game to play. In fact, it's worse.

 

Yes ... but there's no solution to that problem. That ship has already sailed. I'm not criticizing, or even really arguing with you. I freely acknowledge that sucks, but the status quo isn't any better. And SG that people actually want to play would benefit everyone -- would maybe even get kit SG back up and running again, if new players could win a few instead of constantly being slaughtered and giving up. Those players might make some money, then buy a kit, start playing in the other three kit-using arenas, or keep playing when the temporary kit-free period ends, etc. As it is, they come in, they play a few matches, they get slaughtered, they conclude (quite logically) that the game is stacked against them, and they decide not to play any more. And the vicious cycle continues. Would you or I play a game that was blatantly stacked against us? No. Why should they?

Just in the time that I have played on this server, never as a regular SG player, I have watched SG basically die. And as someone with absolutely no stake in the kit/no-kit debate (I just build stuff), I can call it like I see it.

In fact, I would pose a hypothesis. I would bet, if someone on staff accessed the records on feature sales, that they would find that kit sales peaked a long, long time ago and have been in constant decline since, not counting the last few days. The last few days would be a statistical anomaly given the EULA events.
