Mine still makes more sense than yours. It actually lines up with every point that this suggestion is going after and proves the point that this shouldn't be added.
Also re: taking money out of the economy, go search up the auctions on these badboys. I paid 3.5mil to the server when I won station 67. They do cost more than normal shops to purchase and run.
I do think the rule needs to be changed tbh, Maybe not an increase of rent, but something to force people who buy shops to build on them They are perfectly fine and within the rules to do what they are doing currently But 5k is cheap, you simply have to vote each day to cover rent I know you have to work hard to restock, but this is why you get people who idle their shops Like que said, maybe you have to do it on a shop to shop basis
While I really do hate to see shops sitting there vacant as I believe it takes away from the whole market and all of us that are interested in keeping our shops stocked, I do feel that this suggestion is probably not going to provide a solution as expected. Squatters are just as likely to sit on the shop if it were 10k as if it is 5k. I am also worried about that the increase in cost has to pushed down to our buyers and I for one would hate to see that happen as I have some very faithful buyers and try to keep my costs down for them. It would be more beneficial if the rules in place were actually enforced first. Then maybe it would be nice to see more activity required in each shop?
I get annoyed when the grocery store doesn't have the food I want because they haven't stocked them yet, but their taxes don't go up because of it. -1
I get annoyed when the "grocery store" never has the food I want and basically acts like an abandoned store, but people who are willing to buy the store because it is prime real estate never can buy it because the current owner can still pay off rent without doing anything with the store.
If you own a spawn shop you should actively stock your items. IMO it trolls newer players to sees spawn shops that are inactive/un stocked.
I am pretty sure if username agrees with this it should be approved Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@xX3PICREBELXx By the logic your proposing in this suggestion, shouldn't the same go for towns? I see a spawn town in rising that has had 0 development in the last months. Shouldn't we tax the hell out of them as well in order for them to keep their towns "active"?
Rent is different to something you buy outright. Here you do not have Town Rent so to speak, its a one time payment. Spawn shops are not like this, you never own a spawnshop, you rent it until you decide not to rent it, completely different.
While I understand the ideals behind the suggestion, the suggestion won't change anything but be a minor annoyance to those who actually care about running their shops in the front rows (which is the opposite of who you're trying to target). It's worth noting, I just flew around the market and only saw 1 shop that has less than 8 trade signs. If anything we could create a system to issue fines for those who don't have anything in their shop plots / below an arbitrary minimum number of trade signs. However, a system like that would be a hassle to track and maintain. (also all the comparisons to real life economics/politics are silly - this isn't real life and in this case it really doesn't make sense to compare it to anything like that except perhaps zoning violations)
Something needs to be done, these expensive front row spawn shops are high in demand and some of them are as close to empty as possible.
