Why everything has to be made easier/better for PvP-ers? Lets not nerf kits. No to kit-free arena. Lets make nether smaller so we can actually catch somebody. You say these things should be done because PvP is dead and you want to help bring it back to life. But don't you see that these are the core reasons why PvP is dead in the first place? The system started feeding on itself and we have come to a point where 'making things better for PvP-ers' is anymore not going to solve the issue of the lack of PvP in this server. Things need to be looked from another angle. @ShanePvP
Obviously you don't know the difference of PvP and pay2win. Sg is pay2win, the only skilled pvper I know that sg's is 3point. And you can't talk about PvP when you're not in the eyes of one. PvP has physically been dead since February 2014, 10 months before you joined. If you bother to look at my posts, all I'm basically doing is +1 ing no kit arena's, and nerfs of buffer. You know why? BECAUSE I'M A LEGIT PVP'ER. Pay2win is the #1 thing that gets to me with pvp on here. I'm done with these types of threads. And just a little tip to the people who look at these types of threads. If you don't know what being a pvp'er is and what it feels like, don't ever post on a type of thread like this, "I don't PvP good so I'll -1 this" doesn't cut it.
@ShanePvP - I recently claimed a 200x200 town that is about 99% PVP enabled and seemed to be pretty active back in the day. I would welcome any input you (or other PVP experts) would have on how I can present this town to be a PVP alternative. There was no grief allowed, but killing seemed to be a big part of it I will say that for those that just want a PVP area to sit in and kill unsuspecting and fully loaded newbies, this is probably not for them - this is for the serious PVP players that want to play. I will also consider allowing a grief zone if that is something you think might be successful.
I do know the diff, maybe not here. Don't get overly excited. I was just trying to make a point why making a nether smaller so you can kill people like me with full loaded armor and inventories, will not make the PvP here better. The suggestion to narrow down nether area seemed a little naive. Killing in nether is not supposed to be easy. Make teams, track down people, put in some effort. In general I very agreed with the first part of your post, and the message you were trying to send. Will not comment the latter part. My play usually involves quite a lot PvP. I haven't done serious PvP here yet because 1) There's nowhere to practice and 2) I find other things more important atm. I do have good gear even now, and you can be sure that I will be PvP-ing as I get more important business done first.
No, a person that doesn't know the feeling, or the mechanics. To have a good opinion that a pvp'er would respect, you must understand pvp.
Perhaps you could explain better exactly what happened in Feb 2014 to kill PVP. And also if you could explain in detail what a legit PVP'er is and what it feels like since I am sure there are many of us that just don't understand since we were not here. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
What happened in February 2014 were the knew "fancy" arena's that did no good. A legit pvp'er is someone who doesn't abuse things that can give them advantages, like limited mcmmo (IMO 800+ acro is ok 400 swords would be a limit to me, and you shouldn't counter, same with axes, maybe 500 archery, and I don't care about unarmed. For the limits of SG It's ok if you have cc++ or maybe even miq++. It's just the Miq++, Bfr++, and Pf++ (or spy) that is out of line.) What it feels like in pvp, is a feeling of accomplishing a huge goal, especially on ECC. Getting a prot 4 kill, or killing someone in sg gives you a feeling of doing something good. SG kills kind of get old, but with Prot 4 kills, the fight was incredibly fun, and receiving the prot 4 and sharp 5 sword (And anymore gear) gives you pride, and profit. I understand that I may have gotten a little too defensive, and I'm sorry. I just like PvP a little too much, and all I want on ECC is for other people to experience the thrill, and fun PvP has too offer.
Thank you for - it really makes more sense to me now - I just don't understand why the pvp arenas are not played in then - there are no kits there are there? Also, please look up a couple of posts and see if the town I just claimed would have any way of becoming an alternative - though I do realize now that the mcmmo probably still presents a problem. Being very stupid here, is there any reason a flag denying mcmmo could be set in a town - I would be willing to pay to have that done if someone who knows better than me could make the suggestion.
I absolutely suck at pvp. I am do not play honorably, as @ShanePvP does. If I see a pit nearby, I'll sure as heck push 'em into it. What I treasure is the instance where you land that final blow and all the items fly out of nothing. The sound of picking up loot, the rush of having won a fight... was just amazing. Haven't seen real PvP since... it's been a while.
No. But I appreciate the humor. The arena's killed pvp because they were more for the looks then the actual point of.. pvping. Arena 1 is way too easy for someone to escape. Arena 2 has way too much grass, which is a real killer for pvp. Arena 3 is actually pretty good, except for the certain traps, that, with mcmmo, can kill you easily. And of course the amazing Arena 3 is, correct me if I'm wrong made by the person who made this thread. @riku1301 Arena 4 is ok, I wouldn't keep it though, as it has easy escapes, grass, and many, many places for McMMO people to camp. And I also agree, it would be amazing to have the McMMO flag deny.
Sadly no, none of my admissions won (they were all pvp tested). Anyway I've tried so many times to deal with PvP world (change maps, disable mcmmo etc) but apparently PvP isn't important to the server so that is why I made this because it directly relates to the economy.
This is such a negative and incorrect statement and perpetuates a myth that is untrue. Many staff have expressed their opinions which support pvp'ers.
3point is a mod, not a serveradmin, who has the power to change stuff. If they care so much about us, why don't they change the arena's to a big flat dirt surface with fence around (which would be better), and nerf kits slightly? They may have cared 2013. For about approximately a year. No.
Nether is boring and nobody goes to it anymore. PVP is dead, but making the nether smaller could increase PVP and increase the price of nether items.
