A quick point... The only people, the low exp rates hurt are those trying to sell it, and those of us that are rich enough to have stockpiled it.

I have to disagree with this simply because it will hurt the builders trying to make their first decent (not even maxed) picaxe.

I mean builders don't even need to buy exp. All they need to do is earn it. Look at a few years ago on this server when exp cost a few thousand a set. We were retaining more builders. Also this would allow builders to sell their exp they earn for more money as a better source of income.

You're also assuming correlation proves causation. Just because exp prices were higher doesn't mean that is what held builders, maybe we were just getting more on server because Minecraft had a higher player count.

There are more drownings the same days there are higher ice cream sales, but ice cream doesn't cause drownings. Same concept.

What we can say is that their tools and their exp will cost more.

    no..
Minecraft has more players now than ever. With like 1m people playing the game at almost any time. The problem is that ECC isn't new player friendly. Sure, the cause is not XP, you're right about that. But it's not related to Minecraft either. It's an ECC thing.

But you cant simply lower the amount of xp brought in without adding new things to purchase it with.
People are saying nerfing how to get xp is regresion and not progression, but if you nerf the way you get it and add decent things to purchase with it, then you get a good balance.

You add things good things to buy with xp, People will be able to simply buy them easily and in bulk because making xp is probably ne of the easiest things to do. So then you would be back at stage one again with people who dont need xp because they already got all the new cool things within the first 5 minutes of them being released.

Nerf way of obtaining xp but also increase ways to spend it. That way demand goes up, amount thats circulating is reduced.
voila! you have what the netherstar market is at right now.

I agree 100%. I personally think exp from mining and fishing should be nerfed with a bump to mob earned exp so players can really make a difference in the market by destroying or farming spawners. More things must also be available to buy with exp, but I can't think of anything other than what I already suggested.

I'd rather people be moving and mining for Xp rather then someone holding their mouse click down farming xp from a made spawner... ;)

A few things i can think of to get rid of the over flooded exp market are:
    1. A forum badge like the ones where you can turn in a chest of items to get one, do a crazy amount of exp to get one

    2. Purchasable items with it. Maybe have a monthly shop that has items that can be bought with exp instead of ecd. Every month the items change. Dont have to be a lot of stuff or a big store even. Would be nice if it was 100% random stuff being put in and prices based on general exp prices of that month. (ive actually thought of making my own store that does this both for ecd and exp just not sure if its something people would be interested in or not really).

    3. Purchase features with exp which i already suggested here and is on the main post.

    4. Add new stuff that is exp only to buy. Similar to star tools, maybe have a eff 6 pickaxe and things like that but costing less than it would in nstars but still a significant chunk of exp to buy them.

    5. Simply add more enchantments or upgraded enchantments. Like mending is basically garbage when you can repair, who really wants all the lower numbered fortune and eff and stuff like that? Id be all about some enchantments that increase mcmmo exp on my things, maybe something to increase drop rates of ores or farmed items, maybe a jetpack enchantment that lets you basically jump higher/ fly temporarily without dying from falling after doing so, im sure theres some more enchantments that could be added easily.

Personally the idea I've liked the best for increasing EXP demand is by making the color shop require EXP.

That said though there's really no harm in EXP being low priced, and it actually appears to have gone up a bit recently, so I'm don't think this should be a priority.
