Suggestion: One of either two things: (1) Actually start enforcing fines for improper applications, or (2) Remove threads and information that have to do with fining said applications, and never enforce fines.

Reason: I've never seen a fine enforced for an improper application, and as far as I do, the GA+'s don't fine anymore. It's written all over the wiki, as well as in several threads (like this one: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/info-fines-fines-for-improper-applications.169/), but these fines are never really enforced. I've seen plenty of applications in which the user did not have sufficient funds, asked to lock their application, etc. which are *technically* fine-able, but, they aren't fined.

That leaves us with two options: Either actually enforce fines, which would increase the amount of money taken out of the economy, or remove any information about fines in threads and on the wiki, which would be much less confusing. I'd prefer the latter option, since that's pretty much what we do now... all this info is probably just confusing towards new players. However, whether it be option 1 or 2 is up for discussion among you guys.

Any Other Information: The thread I posted above actually has an error :p There's no fines for EcoMasters and EcoLegends.

Fines have been given out for improper apps before, but the vast majority were doled out by Andrew. Not sure if any of the GA+ still do them. @ChargerBoltz5

Figured they must have happened at some point... but it's been forever since a single fine has been enforced, to my knowledge.

I feel as if fines are still in place to prevent troll applications. Most trolls wouldn't want to pay a fine for trolling.

True... but when's the last time you've seen a troll app fined?

Usually apps that are trolly/insubstantial funds/whatever are usually just locked and denied. We need to either start enforcing these fines, or just scratch fines entirely.

I haven't really seen one but that's probably because there are easier ways to troll :p

You're assuming that they weren't fined. You know, those applications could've been just locked and denied, but the fine was given in private.

True, and I did think about this before. I'd really need to hear from a GA to find out whether or not these fines are actually happening.

Option 2. Some residents aren't quite sure what to do as it would be their first time filing an application copying and pasting which seems a little unfair :(

Agreed, maybe we should make it so that if you are making your first application, you don't get fined unless it is definitely a troll application. All others get fined if done improperly.

    I say drop the fines.

Plus, as far as I know they haven't been enforced for over a year and a half, as myself and two of my buddies have had failed applications and haven't been fined in that timeframe.

As someone who was fined for a few incorrect Mayor applications, I feel as though the rules should simply be less strict. If a user messes up on coordinates or something minor, then they should not be fined. If it's a troll application, then they should.

Quite interesting that enforcing fines again seems to be winning with the poll.
