I have to say I am with Harry on this one. Captain needs a use and horses seem like a decent plan. On the other hand, one wrong step and your horse (and maybe you) is dead and you can't take them through the portal so it is trapping the horse in the aether. Beyond that, this is a step in the right direction of giving Captain's something useful for aether.

 

+1 I think it would be a nice feature.

 

I am going against this suggestion for the simple reason, stealing a horse isn't grief. Grief is the destruction or placements of blocks without permission. While it would mean less people could steal them, it also makes it much easier to kill them. Aether is full of floating islands, get a horse to the edge of some island and its gone into the void.

In short, I see this as causing more issues than the few that it would solve.

 

I think that captains should be given some kind of double jump gliding kinda thing so they may get from one island to another. But whether they can only use it in the aether or not should be up to someone else.

 

new fancy idea: make horses in the aether able to fly, even without fly donation? captains without fly who acquired a horse for the aether would then be able to properly travel, even if they don't have $60 for fly.

(captian only feature of course, and only with a horse)
