Well it was actually 1500 nstars originally and the gap increased between the players with and without melon swords. When it went up to 2000 nstars the player value went up from about 500k-600k to 800k-900k. The players that already had a melon sword gained about 300k in total value in their melon sword which I feel is unfair to newer players because they are profiting on their melon sword simply because they bought at an earlier date. I don't think we should do this with eff7s as well.
But isn't that capitalism? If I have a plot of land that I bought for $5, then they all spike to $15, is that unfair to the person that bought it for $15? No, they just got there later. And, they did start out at 1000 nether stars when they first hit the markets.
Is that fair in life? Well, yeah. But because this is a game, and because of the way that the server is set up, I don't think that it works out to be as fair as it is in real life. But anyways, I'm not arguing that it is not fair, I'm arguing that it will make the gap between the rich and poor even larger, which I don't think is beneficial to the server.
It's not creating a gap. The gap is necessary. In order to have an effective economic system, the Top 1% and Bottom 1% must be drastically different. Now, I understand you want it to be "fair", but that would be communism. The best of the best should make the most, and the people that don't try be put at the bottom. That's just the way it would go.
I agree, the gap is necessary and there is already a gap. I don't think it should be made bigger though.
-1 this seems like a money grab if people already own a eff7 pick.. eff7 picks make more per hour, thats a given, but eff7 picks have a finite amount of resources they can benefit from. example if the mining world was completely mined out.. eff7 would make just as much as a stick.. nothing.. a melon sword can make unlimited amounts of money at a set rate designated by crop growing speed. crops regrow while ores do not. melon swords in the long run make more money per hour than eff7's ever will. this suggestion smells of "i want to sell my eff7 for more money, please raise the price so i can."
No, it's inflation control. I have no intentions in selling my eff 7. The issue with it is that people think the mining world "runs out of ores". Yes, in a year it would. People only mine within extreme hills, while other biomes are left untouched. With the amount of money an eff7 makes, I think there should be a price bump.
"people only mine within extreme hills." i see your point that the mining world will probably not run out by the time its reset, but as you stated yourself people only see the mining world as a certain biome. if all the extreme hills biomes ran out people would, 1 have to mining in a different biome lowering profits due to no emeralds and unfamiliar terrain generations, or 2 stop mining for the month and go back to farming. what im trying to get at is to keep an EFF7 making max profits through an entire month takes alot of work and people dont have that drive when there is a slower yet more consistent money maker known as the melon sword.
Emerald is not profitable unless you sell it at a spawnshop. You make about $1,000 more an hour or so, and I still make $24k an hour without it. There needs to be a bump in eff7 prices.
This suggestion makes the rich richer and makes it harder for the poor to get to the rich standards. That sir is how you increase the gap in-between the rich and the poor
Ok? Your point? Capatilism is based off economic strategy. Am I trying to make an extra $300k off this suggestion? No, not at all. I'm simply suggesting we lower the amount of eff7's put into the economy in order to control inflation. Not only to mention you can buy a Max Fortune Pick for only $20,000, which makes $15,000 or so per hour last I checked. There are many alternatives that wouldn't create this dreaded "gap".
Never said it was bad I was simply explaining the logic to the post. Also you made a ton of crazy assumptions about what I was saying that really doesn't make any sense.
Knears I am looking this from another perspective. Raising the eff7 price by 700 nstars would cause people to mine less and SG more. For 2200 nstars (at 500 each) one can buy almost $200 worth of kits at 6,000 per $. This would neglect all the impact we have had, if there ever was any, in the war against kits.
What war? If the mods haven't done anything yet (besides 1/8 no kit which seems like 1/100) then they probably won't change anything. It's sad to see, but it's the truth, sg kits ruined sg, and they're is no "good" way to restore it
The issue you have with these pick axes is that you have a greater risk of losing it.. to lava. People end up having to throw money for pyro to prevent this which adds onto its cost. Melon swords, there's little to no risk at all. Another issue is that people will use this as a money grab, you can't deny it. If there's a chance to make a metric load of extra cash, people will do it. The suggested jump in value needs to be reduced.
(Off topic) To some degree you are correct. Not much has been done. Doesn't mean there is no war. There are countless anti-kit users trying to change kits for the better. While they haven't gotten too much done the only way to change how much they got done is to keep pressing and to keep trying. Sure there's no good way to restore it, but that doesn't mean there is no way to restore it.
Knears I agree with your suggestion, however maybe 2000 netherstars would be a better figure as Melon swords make a bit less but are semi afkable?
