Like @silencedterror said, I strongly encourage the player base to help out other players instead of looking for people to scam. I do realize that many do this, however in recent times I have seen a lot more scams.
As much as that might work I think if they made surveys on the forums to get people opinions on how to change the server. There could be questions like "What do u like most about this server". If not I think the council could work. The only problems with this is who will be on the council and what if the council cannot decide on something.
Council would not make the decisions but generally take the voice and concensus of contributors to a platform that can be further discussed without overwhelming the people that can actually make it happen. Let's say 7 people on a council versus hundreds of complaints, suggestions or etc which may be the same just spoken differently
Melon farming is not op at all. A melon sword which costs about 700k makes about 13k/hour. Also you can only melon farm with the Melon Sword.
What happens when the 30+ people who own melon swords pay off their 700k and are constantly pumping in 13k an hour into our economy?
And farming is much easier than mining, not to mention mining isn't consistent with materials. And even then if you farmed for 12 hours opposed to mining for 12 hours, you would get 48,000 more ECD which is a lot.
The council can be elected by the community in the end the idea is that they will be the voice of the people in a way. I can make a thread in which people who are willing and able to be in the council can apply. Than in another thread the people will vote for the applicants and the lets top 7 people with most votes will be on the council. But first we have to decide what exactly is the council, what duties its members have, will there be mandates or we will just the same people until someone quits and just replace them with a suitable candidate, in what way the council members will approach the player- in-game, in the forums or both? One thing is certain- being in the council will give advantages to no one, the members will be just normal players but they will have to be in touch with the others, hear them out, discuss the current problems with other members of the council and contact the mods telling them about the most pressing issues. We don't need the permission of mods to do this just the approval of the players and electing the members. This I think will help the mods by taking a little of the pressure from them. They wont have to deal with 70 players but with 7 and that IMO is going to solve more problems in a faster way by working on them one by one rather than taking on everything at once and solving nothing.
I agree with the voting on the apps but I think each 2 months there should be a re-election. I think this is a great idea to make the mods life a lot easier. Also I think 7 members for the council is a good idea too.
I think 2 months is a little too short of a period because elections and applications will take some time and I also think people will stop applying and/or voting when the period is so short. I was thinking about 4 months but its up to the players whatever the majority says goes.
I think it would be a good idea to have a suggestion box or forum thing or whatever so people can suggest things. I think more people would come/stay because then they could suggest things. Also I think voting prizes shouldn't just be nstar and maybe other items or money upfront not by selling the nstar.
We are currently on the suggestion forum. And about the voting prices there already are other items (spawn eggs ) that you can sell to players but you have to get lucky to get them.
I am always willing to help. I know we need more people, but we cannot just look at the builders, we also have to consider our residents and up who have stayed. So I agree that we need to do what we can in our community.
