Add more shops, redesign the shop layout all together, maybe make the spawn point in the center of each market row instead at the beginning, people will have half the distance to go while looking thru the shops. Also potentially spread out the bigger shops evenly thru out the market stalls, maybe that will force people to shop around a little more.
Please please just whatever happens the whole market needs to be redone. As an incoming player it is a disaster. Unorganized, confusing, and almost completely deserted. There are only a few decent shops that are stocked at all. And what is there is spread wildly across a depressingly void alley. If it hadn't been for the amazing users I met, I would have left ECC right away because the actual market, what should be the backbone of the whole economy, is a silly mess. Considering that there are the few larger and actual functioning establishments and they are so prominent and successful, I think it would be good to implement several tiers of shops that could occupy the markets. These would be the mega marts, the big names. They could be larger and they could still be so very expensive to rent. But there could be other tiers smaller, cheaper, maybe targeted towards a more specific type of item. It would be more convenient to pop in to a small food stall and buy some food than it would be to search th mega stores. This would also be a lot easier for new users to understand. Instead of "blue market" it could be "block market", "wood market", "food court". There are also a few pretty great town based shops now. It might be cool if there were areas in the market for advertisement of town based establishments. And they're proof just how busted the market is. It's just as good to have a shop literally anywhere else. If I were about to open one, I wouldn't put it in the market. I don't know exactly what should be done, but something should be done and asap. The focus shouldn't be on features to sell or more voting sites to use if this is an economy server with a busted, nasty and empty market. Its a really good server and I want it to get better
Well first I say we need to cut off new applications for shops and then wait until the inactive ones expire. Then we will at least have a smaller number of shops to work with. Then maybe a new market could be made and depending on the location of someone's shop currently would determine the location of where their new shop is.
I think that an entire new market area would have to be made and the legacy market could time out peacefully without anyone's business being interrupted and when the new market opens everyone could have equal crack at the good spots to encourage more competition. Then after the legacy market empties out in it's own time then that area could be utilized in some new way.
I feel that first and second tier shops should remain bigger. They cost A LOT of money. And if they don't use it, not our problem. Find somewhere else to shop. I just feel the market needs to be redesigned and the stall amount be decreased.
What would have to be done is the new market be designed and built. Then you would have the Spawn Shop App/Renew's apply to the new design and no-longer the old design. Have a deadline in which the Old Spawn Shops will all expire and refund anyone who paid beyond the deadline. This will encourage people to rent in the new market. Also, probably best to give those who own a spawn shop a 2 day period in advance before those who never had one can apply? Gives staff time to setup the market when the flood of apps occur, but also those who owned one previously have the equal chance of retrieving their shop? Just an idea that might work.
+1 to decrease in amount of stalls. -1 to decrease in size of stalls. The size of the stalls is perfectly fine, no need to change them.
