Suggestion: Adding a channel purely for the sake of the Spanish language
Reason: Making ECC bilingual will not only broaden it's audience, but add more people to the game! Imagine going to a server this popular on Minecraft as a Native-Spanish Speaker and have just as good of an experience as an English Speaker! Tons of mods (or people in general) speak Spanish, such as Zardgyer or me, and we can help translate English to Spanish if needed.

I say no to this. If we add a channel for only Spanish then users that speak French, German, etc will want a chat channel for their language too. Also we would need moderators that speak those languages in order to monitor the channels.

Spanish is #2, therefore, there is a reason why we don't have other languages.

This suggestion is very odd and interesting
Firstly why just Spanish?
If you want to do something like that then you should have a lot of language channels speaking many different languages.
It makes it sound like that Spanish is a superior language and other languages don't deserve a chat room.(Absolutely no offense)
"Spanish is #2, therefore, there is a reason why we don't have other languages."
This sounds like other channels don't deserve a channel because less people speaks the language...
And the ECC demographics are going to very heavily to the Wikipedia page you just showed.
If we are going by the Wikipedia why not Mandarin?
Secondly I don't wish to have a chat room exclusive to a certain language as I think some people may exploit this as a way to bitch about people openly and them having no clue, yes the mods that speak Spanish might help tone it down but this could cause some unnecessary drama.
At the end of the day I oppose this.
But this is a very interesting idea and I want to see others opinions

Here is my opinion on this, I am with Da_Tirtow.
The first issue is that we would need staff members to moderate this chat, and it would take quite a few mods that are fluent in the language, relaying on player translation would be a flawed solution, as having the mods relay on player interpretation can be abused, or just be plain unreliable. Second is all other languages would want theirs, while Spanish may be the second most common in the world, does not make it the second most common language on ECC. Lastly, you speak any language you want in pms or in local as long as it is not in range of spawn. -

Yes, it is allowed if its a private channel you own.

It'd be an interesting idea, but i think someone suggested it before and it didn't go anywhere.

I find this suggestion kind of funny, because even though my first language is Spanish, I actually prefer writing/reading in English.
Although I can see your point and why this could be useful, this would probably just bring more troubles than benefits.
Moderating would be needed, and it isn't as simple as you might think it is. I've seen many people that claim to be fluent Spanish speakers here on the server and when they post/say something, I can immediately notice there is something wrong with their message. Spanish-speaking trolls would probably keep mocking mods and people without them even noticing, I've seen a couple communities that do this, and it happens everytime. -
