    With this logic, why have /ignore? just say "Don't like his/her post? Don't read them." And, I am not trying to troll, this is an honest suggestion, why is that so hard to understand?

    Because ignore is used for actual purposes - Like ignoring people who have harassed you/got into conflicts with you before. This shouldn't apply to staff as they don't get into conflicts with users.
