Suggestion: put a ban ticker on the forums.

Reason: would help prevent rule breaking.

i think a ban ticker would help show that the rules are actually inforced. it doesnt have to say name. it just says for what offence. obviously it will change as people appeal. this woundnt negatively effect any specific users due to the lack of names. but it will show that rules are taken seriously. ive done my share of user complaints on the forum/read through enough to see, that rules are fairly enforced, with an excess of "user warned ingame". people get multiple warnings before serious action is taken. due to the lax enforcement seen on the "user" side of the forums.
now i am not saying that there isnt rule inforcement. im saying on a non-mod+ user side of things there isnt enough shown for us to notice. kinda like cops do their job even when you dont see the squad car up and down your street daily. but you will feel safer if you see them pass so often.
example of how it may look.

My primary issue with this is, this isn't information that the community needs to know, nor that we should show off. Having a ticker like that seems, rather, well, authoritarian. A bit like "Here's everyone gone, you might be next".

You shouldn't need proof the staff are doing their jobs, the fact that they're staff is proof enough. This means you just want to see staff doing jobs, which is rather, well, counterproductive. In my eyes, you shouldn't notice staff doing their job; the very fact you don't notice anything wrong means that staff are doing their job. If you want to see staff work being done, you can thumb through the many pages of ban appeals, complaints, and grief reports.

Then there's the updating side of this, sure for complaint and grief report based issues, but anything handled in game means staff would have to stop what's being worked on and go update the ticker for every ban -- in the process possibly missing the next offense.

i do see your point in the whole "here's everyone gone, you might be next" buts its more like "here is all the rule breakers, if your break rules your going to be next". and i know we dont "need" to see staff doing their jobs, it would be nice though. like watching cops. and lastly this can be completely automated with the server. no need for staff to be changing it.. somewhat hard with the "users warned ingame" part but the bans can be counted off of the server banlist. by counting lines including certain words. example. get the program/line of code go through and count how many lines contain reason and scamming. that would give you a count of how many users would be banned for scamming. same thing for other offences. like "scamming" "hacking" "griefing" "advertising" i know this would take some time to impliment. but it would be a no maintenance once running.

I can only say that i strongly agree with nicit6. I think that so much work isn't worth. A user gets banned and that user apply and it is accepted a staff member would be wasting his time on updating that counter. And I don't really belive that their job isn't noticed as nicit6 said
And as he said too Why you need to know that just enjoy your gaming. If you are so interested in rules being respected just apply to join the staff team ;)

    Greetings!

The issue is, even if you managed to integrate that between forums and in game, it'd be far from perfect. Depend on the offense, they can be banned multiple times (e.g. advertisers at spawn can get banned by multiple staff members simultaneously), which would likely count this as unique bans. There's also ban reasons that include multiple reasons, and stuff like that.

Moreso though, I hold, this isn't something that needs to be public knowledge.

If you want to see this type of stuff, just look at all the ban appeals and User complaints. (although, I assume you already do)
