Everything is an argument with you damn man give it a fricking rest. What did I say to spark the inner knears inside of you to start what your doing rn? Whatever I did, please contain it and stop, ty
It's known as me defending a point. If you're offended by my stances on things, that's completely intolerant, but you can go ahead and ignore me on the forums if you would like. And I'm simply quoting the rules to prove my point, that was all I did and what you asked me to do.
What point exactly? There is no point to give, I jut asked for a simple answer based on an answer provided above to a separate user. Not sure what your point is, and why you have to defend it, as it doesn't exist
You have a differing opinion than mine, so I responded to you. That is what happened, then you went after me personally, so I went into Ultra-Debate-Knears.
Gentlemen, I think we are having a an argument about 2 different things in 1 thread. Some people are arguing for and against people being able to use Shouts. There is the side saying "I want to use Shout as much as the rules allow me, I will not agree to lessen the amount of Shouting I can do" There is the other side saying "Shouts should be removed from ECC" The OTHER discussion is 2 sided between "I don't want to see xx Shouts" and "If I Shout, everyone must see it, no escape" So, one is about being able to speak, and the other is about being able to stop listening. I have no problem with the Shout rules as they presently are. I would just like to personally stop seeing them. Thus I am in the "stop listening" group Now, if we simply stop discussing the "talk" aspect of Shouts, does anyone have any concerns about people being able to stop "listening"? No name-calling or "-1 because I don't like it" type stuff. Any actual reasons that everyone must be included, even against their will?
As I've stated before, so long as they are not harassing, nor are they flame baiting, they are well within the bounds of the rules, and everyone should see it, given that's what they're paying to do. Allowing people not to see them would completely undermine the purpose of a shout.
+infinity for this post alone. Love how we have a no spam rule here, but yet give people a way to get around it. Love how the people who break the rules/get banned want to keep doing this while the people who haven't been banned and follow the rules want it gone or regulated better... since it's been suggested several times and nothing's been done, it shows me who this server caters to. I think they've made it clear they aren't going to do anything about it, so why even waste your time anymore?
Do you even listen to yourself? Before posting run it over in your head first or get another's opinion. 'minority' is a general term, I was talking more specific. Will not respond to you again as every time you talk on suggestions, it never adds to anything, it's there to try and contradict the other person.
I'm stating the fact of the majority believes that the rule should remain the same. It's adding to the suggestion by rebutting your point. I do in fact listen to myself, and you state my exact strategy in proving a point. You take the information given, use it to your advantage, and then use it to rebut the opposers point. All I am doing is rebutting your point, that is all.
My point is that people would simply like a way to escape shouts and no one has done anything yet bout it so its clear they aren't and others shouldn't waste their time. I don't want a rule to change. I don't even care about the poll at the top cause if I voted in it, I would vote "No"... however I do not wish to shout, but I wish not to take that from others. Like skymaster said, I just want to /ch leave shout. So once again you quoted me arguing a meaningless point that makes no sense when you look at the whole scope of things.
The problem is that undermines the whole purpose of a shout. The purpose of a shout is in exchange for $1,000 per shout, your message will be shown to the entire server, whether they like it or not. So long as they are in compliance with all chat rules disregarding spam, it is perfectly legal. By adding this, it completely undermines the purpose of what a shout is for, hence why I am against it.
Everyone seems to miss the point of this suggestion: Suggestion: Make it so you can only have 1 shout and not spam/double post them Reason: It's spammy and I don't like them being spammed, it clogs up my chat Op is simply asking that something be done about the spamming/double posting that is allowed in shout.
What about the people who aren't online at the time the shout was made? They don't see the shout message and it effects nothing. Surprised you're not wanting a shout to be stored and displayed when users who weren't online at the time come online.
Add the ability to ignore them. Who cares that you pay money, as you've already seen a majority of people won't ignore shouts anyways, so why does it matter? Shout spam should be illegal to a point. Yes, you pay money, but even with advertisements that companies spend millions of dollars on, you can change the channel. People should have a choice, whether people agree with it or not. Shouts should also be default on; if you log off when shouts are ignored, they are unignored for when you log on again. This would mean you would still see shouts, so if it got spammy you could just ignore it, but to keep it fair ignoring wouldn't be indefinite and would get reset upon logging off. The whole point of shouts is so the whole server sees your message; not so that you can clog up the chat of everyone. Perhaps ignoring shouldn't be for shouts in general, but should be ignored by ignoring specific people so that you still get shouts, but the spammers aren't seen in your chat.
