Minecraft Name: Nicit6
Suggestion: Edit the pyro-specific rules, adding the lines I've highlighted by putting in green, and removing what I've put in red.
Clause 2: Water and Pyro
- Supporters who have the water and pyro features are not allowed to grief with those items in protected zones, including any and all spawn areas.
- Supporters with the water and pyro features may not use these in any way that causes water or lava to flow into any protected region.
- This includes all server spawn regions in any world.
- This includes attempts Attempting to kill people with these perks in non-PvP areas is expressly forbidden.
- Placing lava on the surface of any wild region in Rising, Legacy, Mining, or the Aether is not allowed.
- Placing lava in town regions is allowed so long there is no malicious intent, such as parts of builds.
- You may use lava in the Aether for building purposes.
- Placing lava underground in any of these areas is still allowed.
- If caught you will immediately have those features removed from you and will face punishment on our server. This can include a rollback of your actions and a possible ban.
- Using either of these features to violate a server rule will result in a ban as well as the possibility to lose your feature.
Reason:
Some of these changes are basic wording fixes, the major change is banning surface placement of lava on the surface wild regions. This is because there is honestly NO good reason to do this. Often you'll come across entire mountains covered in player-placed lava in Rising/Legacy, or builder's villagers covered in lava in the mining world.
Any Other Information:
I fixed some stuff regarding wording, adding in the express mention of lava flowing into towns/etc and removing something obvious (no grief) as it's already covered in the grief rule. Edited last disclaimer to say 'may' lose feature as it rarely happens, and extended it to include violating any server rule, rather than just the ones listed under this clause.

@Dewsy to tell me why everything I'm suggesting here is a bad idea :p

Another example of N6 doing everything he can to make our lives better on ECC!
Is that disclaimer really even necessary - in my almost two years I know of not one loss of features - ranks right up there with the term "permaban".
Bans on the other hand are swift when it comes to feature abuse!-

It's happened like... once? Maybe? It's very rare as everything gets complicated when you meddle with what people paid real money for (which I can respect). Still best to keep it there imo, gives us the option if we need to.

I also respect that as well and the same for a permaban. I may not always agree but it is good that our server owner is a caring and loving person and will give most players another chance. I still cringe when I see some of these players return though :p
You of course are correct about keeping it there just in case. -
Honestly, I'm not sure why we allow the placement of lava in the mining world... not sure what the point of it is. But I like the new additions and change you have suggested. +1

This would still allow pyro in towns correct?
I also use fire to burn materials I don't want, but that can be changed easily.
Idk if people actually place lava and water on top to make obsidian, that may be an obstacle. -
Yes, lava in towns you can do (as long as it's not grief, of course)
If people use lava+water to make obby they'll just have to move underground or into a region they own. -

-1 I want the wild ugly. Why not? I am not making a trap. If I would dig a huge hole somewhere will that be grief? No! Same for lava placing. Lets destroy nature together!

As for legitimate reasons.. I used lava in the mining world to set up a spawner (lava killed baby zombies allowing the big zombies to go up the trap) - so there is one reason why it is enabled in the mining world. I do appreciate that this would be allowed in your suggested rules though!
I don't disagree with anything here, and I definitely agree with the edit to the disclaimer, but at the moment I don't feel the need to have such a sweeping prohibition on all placement of lava on the surface. It seems like an extreme measure to prohibit all surface placement. It seems excessive.
Basically, the tl;dr - I don't know where I stand on this yet :p -
I know, plenty of valid underground uses of lava in mining, which is why I wrote an exception for it. However there are simply few to no practical uses for lava on the surface of mining/etc. I don't see it as a drastic measure as, well, what do you need lava for on the surface?
-
But but but now people cant kill others in the wild and torment builders???? i dont see why this should be added jk lel +1
-
Pros- regions will be more open to town placement
- no unneeded deaths
- server looks cleaner
- less lag in mining world
- grief is just...why?
Cons- No obby generation
- mob traps gone
- spawner set up with water gone
- basically all spawner set ups gone
Idk I agree and disagree with this with
@Dewsy92 -
Mob traps are still fine - Included in the rule I've propsed is a clause allowing lava underground, and water isn't banned at all on the surface or underground. Obby generation and cobble generation might be a thing, but you can easily do those underground or in a town.
