This plugin is supported by HeroChat, the current chat plugin, so I can't seem to see why it shouldn't work nicely. Although, I think there would be too many flaws with it.
@Emau , good point. For your first question, unfortunately you cannot ignore certain people/bids. You can only /auc ingore, and again to read auction messages. And don't worry about the trouble ones. You'll be able to pick out the scams. If a player tries to rename a dirt block Beacon, the name will be italicized, so you'll know if it's a fake. If someone auctions a tool/weapon that has been used, the auction will say that it is damaged, and a certain command will display it's current durability. If you win an auction and you don't have enough space in your inventory, the items will be dropped. I recommend not participating in an auction while in a SG battle..
Just to be clear, in my first question.. none of those things would be able to be auctioned since the plug-in wouldn't recognize them, right? And to my second question.. we would have to have some kind of "blocker" created to not have the winning item spawn while you are in SG. Or this could be used to get items into an SG match that shouldn't be there. (diamond weapons/armor/certain potions/etc).
Right, none of the things in your first question would be auctionable. That's where ECC's traditional auction system. I'm not sure how it works here, but in my experience, I've used the auction plugin for physical items, and the trade channel for pricechecks, perms to farms, or bulk items. Also, you're on the right track for the blocker. All an admin needs to do is go into each survival games world, and remove the following permissions: auction.bid auction.start auction.receive The permission node auction.receive would stop you from getting any auction items in an SG map.
If they can do that that would be great, +1 but not all items like a melon or eff 7 pickaxe or donation features can be sold
Right.. Again, donation features cannot be sold in an auction through this plugin, UNLESS you wrote a book stating who you are, what donation perk/amount of $, and signed it. Then the winner of the book could present it to you, or you could see the person who won it(it says the name of whoever wins)(I.E. " jassimq won 1 signed book for $25,000") I'm not sure what it would say, depending if you renamed the book, or if it would present the actual title of the book. You could also auction donations another way. Assume you are selling a $25 donation, and also assume that 1k = 1 USD. First, start an auction with a dirt block, priced at $25,000. Next, state in the auction chat channel, that the winner of this auction will receive a $25 donation(or however you would word it). Then, when someone wins the auction, message them and work out the details of what they want. One question though, what the heck is a melon pickaxe.........
I recall a mod telling me that books do count as a contract because I believe you can check who wrote them. Just saying. I support this 100%
Also, @Lee1104 , as far as I know, you can't copy a signed book? Because it would say "By Lee1104"???
I'm beginning not to like this suggestion. There is nothing wrong with the way auction is at the moment.
-1. The players are capable of running auctions, and if something goes wrong, that is when the mods step in. I don't see why this needs changing.
Why do the mods have to step in? Is it a problem to reduce the workload on mods? Almost every other server has the plugin so builders will be much more familier with auction. Auction also spams chat with bright blue chat with all the heards and random people talking.
Right. @Coolslammer3 is exactly right! I'm sure every staff member would be more than relieved to have some more free time, and less drama.
@miner1975 you can auction weapons, and tools. The auction will display the durability and current enchantments/levels on it.
Okay, so obviously this plugin has all the items/special affects (such as enchants) built in. But what about the waiting list? There will be tons of troll auctions that will keep the real auctions from displaying. There will be a huge waiting list of builders selling dirt, 2 iron for $1k, etc as well as people that have put their items up for auction but want to change the price. This might decrease a little bit of scamming, but it could easily cause people to not auction items anymore because of all the cons people have shared above.
@miner1975 totally agree, it becomes a race to get the perfect timing to get on the waiting list for auction and makes it hard to multitask. I came to this server and thought wow that is a way better way to do it. Also there is more in the chat from plugins about time left ect.
