Since coming back I've noticed hardly anyone has money for lottery... those who do are spending there last pennies... Why?
Because APPS are overpriced, Why are they overpriced? Because the Economy's prices have been going down and down and the apps have remained the same.
Seriously look at towns for example, I've been with ECC For over a year - Shouldn't I be able to have 12 towns? That I can make look pretty, have specific uses... maybe make another town? I'm running out of room for my Pixel Art and I can't expand it because my towns now cost 700k+... I can't even win 700k+ From Lotteries... how the hell Would a Player make that Farming or Mining with current prices?
I believe the prices of all the APPS need a serious looking into, they're currently not in proportion to the servers prices, the economy is turning from housing to slums and its because of a severe issue with the prices.

i think that our developers should work on fixing that dumb bug with pumkins so we can earn at least 1.50 again from pumpkins. but i do agree that some apps are a little over priced. my solution= raise prices up on farming/mining.

I aggree 100% with you the portal app is 70k i mean come on farming prices are trash diamonds have dropped nearly to 46 each pumpkin prices are .75 each i mean come on andrew needs to budge some where and he needs to budge on these prices its either raise the farming price or lower that application prices either or but he needs to do one of them and soon because its hard to make money now thats why so many people are turning to loto and risking it all to gain some money.

Completely agreed, i brought up this same topic in game and everyone went crazy. If the server prices for pumpkins, sugarcane, etc. are going down, and app prices are skyrocketing, i don't think the economy is going to last very long. They need to balance it out more and lower apps or raise farming/mining prices atleast.

$700k @ $15k/hr farming (minimum obtainable from every crop) = 46 hours of farming. 46 hours comprises roughly 0.005% of your one year on the server. If you just farm for an hour and a half a day on the side, while spending the rest of your time doing pixel art, selling plots, building towns, mining, or doing whatever, you'd have your next down in one month. Farm for four hours a day and you'd have it in 10 days. Really, really want that next $700k town? Farm 8 hours a day and get it in less than a week. All of these numbers assume $15k an hour, but $20k+ an hour is still possible on most crops given top of the line setups.
But you hate farming, you say? Well then perhaps this post is a little off the mark. Rather, perhaps other means of making money should be boosted. Mining immediately comes to mind, although one can now make $10-15k/hr with experience sales.
But as far as app prices go, I don't think it unreasonable that town #9 take a week of serious effort to obtain. Or a month of leisurely effort, either.
Worldedits, on the other hand >.< -
Hmm might are little economy be in a recession by chance? (Is that even possible on Minecraft :? ) My solution don’t drop pumpkins to 75 cents when there was absolutely no reason to.

If I wanted to work a Real Life Job I'd go work overhours in my real Job - get an extra $50 and just buy ECC Money that way, It'd be faster - Cheaper and More fun... The fact REAL LIFE WORK is more fun than sitting there farming or mining for a month... Is simply Horrid. -

I believe that apps in general need tweaking to reach the correct value according to the server prices. As for 15k/hour that's rubbish. With mining its 5k-20k and it swings WILDLY due to the chance of obtaining an item; with farming its barely 10k now. Why should someone waste a month of there life trying to achieve a town IN A GAME that there trying to get just to have fun in, ECC should be leaning towards giving players a great experience not making them work a Real Life Job on ECC to Earn that Fun Experience.

You're right, a lot of the applications are more difficult now than they used to be. Things are more expensive in general, and money is more scarce. But this is a "hardcore economy" server - getting those expensive late-game goodies isn't meant to be easy!
And of course I'm only using Town #9 as an example, you could insert anything there really. -

*looks at lottery winners* oh wow, 430k and 100k and more of those, I think my point is clear, there is nothing wrong with the economy.
Money is still REALLY easy to make, even for me, when I'm mining I can make atleast 5k an hour, which is without the 40 diamonds or so I usually get (3-4k) and without exp, which is around 1500 exp per hour and they are worth roughly $2 a piece, this is another 3k.
This means that every hour I make atleast 11k, this is enough to buy most of the applications (besides towns) within a couple of days assuming I mine for 1-2 hours a day.
Farming makes likes Rockdassie said, 15k+ (reeds or wheat don't require anything special) and even with a 16x16 farm you make quite a bit of money. 15k an hour will get you any application besides additional towns within a couple of days.
There is also the fact that our immediate goal is to take money OUT of the economy, lowering application prices contradicts that.
Right now there is roughly 87m in the economy, it was 84m a week ago, this is AFTER the prices of pumpkins and reeds were lowered.
If anything I say we should raise prices, or even raise taxes on the lottery.
