EcocityCraft, about 20% of server pvps, deff not biggest feature, but i do agree alot of ppl have quit bedcuase of it
Also just as a little side note i got logged on today by 3 different people so ya. Something a plugin like this could stop.
I havent read any other comments, so sorry if this is repeated but.. The plugin could be really helpful but.. -Server Restart -Mc crash -Lag This could screw some people over lol
Dude look at all the screenshots riku took your only disagreeing with this because your one of the noobs that come to pvp and get hit in and then log after 3 hits pvp and in sg this would be useful a lot of people log when they are gonna die in hg so the other player doesn't get their stuff
I said I wasn't going to reply to this post, but when Epislen decides to call me a noob to my face, I step back in. Extreme rudeness aside... 1. I have never logged in Pvp. 2. He could easily have taken those photo's only when a lot of people go in there. I could show you dozens of photos with no one there.
take a moment and look what you wrote it does matter if your a pvper cause if your not then guess what you kinda dont have shit to talk about cause you dont know the struggle that the real pvpers go through to get their kill and what would make the pvp more enjoyable for players
im pretty sure it depends on the time of day and the day but like i said you have logged before dont deny it
I have no idea why you want to claim I've done this. I have never done this in my lifetime. Not on ECC (nowhere, for that matter), not even when Pvp was a little tiny desert themed arena with a ditch running through it. And either way, it doesn't matter if I have logged or not. There are plenty of crimes I could pin on you if I wanted to, instead of making them up.
No no The only reason anyone gets the "DEV" tag (besides khobbits and lcprecords) is because, 1. They made a plugin, and 2. We used it. Other then that, Andrew never hired any Dev's.
that would be a great plugin for PVP! it's so annoying when your doing pvp and your about to kill someone and they just log off
Well, seeing as no other valid points have been mentioned, let me make a point. Main Point 1:Granted that everyone that goes to pvp has a risk of losing their stuff, that risk is artificially reduced by the fact that a dying pvper could simply log out upon seeing he/she will take fatal damage. This causes more people to pvp than would normally be pvping. If these "cowards" that combat log knew that they could not combat log, they just would not go to pvp at all, seeing as the risk would have been increased. IMPORTANT: Combat loggers would not have been there in the first place, had a combat logger been in place. So you say that you have had 5 people combat log on you in a day? well you werent going to get that gear anyway, because they would have just not come. COUNTERPOINT 1: If you would have responded that the addition of a combat logging plugin would attract more members to ECC, and more importantly, pvpers, this would be to mitigate the fact that less people from ECC would venture to PVP. Unfortunately, hardcore pvpers do not look at ECC and say it is a pvp server. Regardless of the plugins we implement to make pvp "more enjoyable" (i still have a problem with that statement), it just would not attract enough attention from the pvp community, seeing as there are literally thousands of other servers out there that provide a better pvp environment. Main Point 2: All plugins create lag. This is a fact. The addition of another plugin would not benefit the vast majority of ECC, but would create unnecessary lag for everyone. (Most ECC-ers are not hardcore pvpers). This lag would slow down restarts, and negatively impact the server as a whole. COUNTERPOINT 2: If you would have said that "I run Plugin ABC on another server and i hardly see any problems" you are comparing apples to oranges. ECC is not your private server. ECC has lag proportional to it's online players as well as its active plugins. Adding another plugin (in addition to the myriad of plugins ECC already runs) would have a larger negative impact on the community through lag. (400 members > 20 members) Main Point 3: ECC is an economy server, and as such, it is optimized for the economy aspect of minecraft, not the pvp aspect of minecraft. ECC (and any other server) does not have the luxury of trying to appeal to every single demographic. Every additional plugin affects performance negatively. As such, no server can implement a metric-ton of plugins to make it the best "All around server". Every server must choose it's segment of the minecraft server market, and ECC has chosen Economy. COUNTERPOINT 3: If you say that since "money changes hands when people die because of the money you make from selling their armor", PVP is an essential part of the economy, you would be wrong. PVP here is meant to be an entertainment. Something to occupy your time because you are bored of farming melons. True, some people can make a living pvping, it is still just entertainment. As such, pvp should be treated almost like a minigame (obviously it is not a minigame) but that is the position that pvp has taken in this server. Conclusion: Due to the points i have put forth above, i feel like ECC is not a "all around server". Nor is it a PVP server. ECC is an economy server, with sg, and PVP (to an extent) as minigames. ECC has a competitive advantage as an economy server. Implementing a plugin to make pvp a bigger part of the server would not further that competitive advantage, and actually, would deteriorate the competitive advantage we already hold as a server. As such, i would advocate against the implementation of a combat logger plugin.
