revanrose6 could you please get webman to stop posting on my thread he is refusing to stay on topic and trolling which i dont appreciate.
Lets keep this on topic. There is no reason to bring personal issues, let alone ban appeals into this thread. This thread is discussing whether or not it is a good idea to make a PvP Anti Logging plugin. Therefore, lets continue discussing the pros and cons of doing that. Revanrose6
That is only one tpye of lag out, ppl can be fighting then "java error" and there they are logged to minecraft, it is the same as doing esc disconnect
Idk if its just me but I've never experienced this nor have I ever seen this happen or have a Friend experience this.
kukelekuuk00 what do you mean by closed source? I can edit the configs and all that so idk what the problem really is. Also in doing this i found a option for when someone lags out to not tag them what worlds this should be enabled in and the different punishments it can have on the player such as removing money from their balance and i just found you can set it to not tag you if it was PvE damage
ok so because you cant edit the code itself it's not wanted. Why would this be a problem especially with a widely used plugin like this. Would the configs not be enough?
Andrew only accepts plugins he can have his developers edit whenever he feels they need editing. This is because if Andrew wanted the plugin to be edited, he would have to contact the owner, and request they make the edit. Even then they most likely will disagree, because the plugin wasn't designed just for E.C.C. He has the option to buy out the plugin, and have our developers work on it - however, this addition is too small for that. Not to mention, Anti-logging plugins are one of the buggiest plugins developed, it would just simply be a waist of time and money.
Being a debater, i know about good discussion. Policies are not enacted without a decent look into the pros and cons of each side of the issue. This being said, this has been a horrid discussion. This has consisted mainly of a few enthusiastic activists on the same side of the issue, telling themselves that they are right. anyone else has been called a troll or just wasting your time. Even if i PVP'ed, id be hard pressed to say that this suggestion thread would have convinced me either way. So, i will not touch the logging issue. Just a suggestion in a suggestion: If you want to actually convince anyone that what you say is right, you should have active commentary from both sides. (idc if you call me a troll, i just cant stand bad discussion) note: this is very relevant to the issue
I say no to this. It's practically useless. Pvp is barely ever used. 20 people would be huge. I've seen 80 in SG before. I've seen 300 on the server and barely any in Pvp. It's a buggy plugin, from what I've read so far, no one has found one open source. If Pvp had enough supporters, perhaps it would be treated the same.
pvp is one of the bigger features this server, and I know myself that a lot of people have left pvp because this is happening, and a lot of others left due to mcmmo but it's still one of the biggest features on ecc.
Bigger features? That's a joke. The only features I can name that are less used then Pvp would be: Aether, spleef, and at a stretch, Nether. The features that I can name that are more used then Pvp would be : Tradeshops, mining world, snipe chest, towns, forums, and donations. Pvp is one of the smaller features on this server, not one of the larger ones.
I'm talking about this suggestion, and the plugins in this suggestion. From what I've heard, they are buggy.
