Minecraft Name: Reincarnated_ Suggestion: If a player has had 10 or more ban appeals within 1 year for doing severe things (Harassment, hacking, and scamming imo) permaban them with no chance of appeal. Keep a list of people who are constant rule breakers and/or have many ban appeals so that we do not have to wait until andrew handles an appeal. If Andrew an appeal, you know the line was already crossed. Reason: @andrewkm has been doing this lately and he has been suprised at how these people are still on ECC. Staff can prevent this by adding this as a rule. Any Other Information: N/A
You can't just perma ban people by number of bans. 10 appeals for some bad manners over 5 years is a lot different from 10 appeals in a couple months for hacking for example. -1 bad idea.
Adding a timer is also not a good system. Breaking some rules is more severe than breaking others. You can't perma people without taking this into account. It also doesn't take into account whether or not people have changed. Or anything else for that matter. Still -1
If you think about it, it's a bit ridiculous to break 10 rules that will get you perm banned in the first place.
Rule breaking is rule breaking, You have to actually go out your way to get banned... +1 Break rules constantly, goodbye
Should be done on a case-by-case basis. While it's rare to have a situation where 10+ bans doesn't actually warrant a permaban, let's not exclude that potential situation. Banning people based on rigid guidelines is silly.
I do not agree with this suggestion as it has been proposed since it does not really address the reasons for the bans. As for andrew not knowing about these players, it just shows that our staff attempts to not involve him in issues that are not as important as those he deals with everyday providing us a server to play on. That said, it may be a better suggestion that andrew would have a list of these "repeat" offenders after 10 or so maybe. I believe that our staff does the very best they can and we as a community have all been lax in allowing these trolls to continue to harass us. While we have to be very careful of slander and libel, there is no reason that any of us can't ignore these trolls and scammers and not make the mistake of loaning or giving them money or making any other deals with them in game.
Your updated suggestion is silly as well, people who keep doing severe things should be perma'd after a handful of bans, not 10+. Like I said, it should be done on a case-by-case basis. (though, a bit stricter than is currently the case)
Adding some weird-ass rule does nothing but worsen things. Now there is a rule talking about permaban severity, but what if someone should be banned before that? What if you say "after 10 times they should be permabanned" and someone should actually be permabanned before it even reaches the 4th ban? You end up in a situation where people think they should only get permabanned after 10 times. Overcomplicating things is stupid. Yes, people like that should be permabanned faster. But there should NOT be a rigid rule about that. That would just be a constraint. Permabans just need to be done on a case-by-case basis, but stricter.
We aren't going to create inflexible guidelines for permabans. Sorry. They'll remain at staff/administrative discretion.
