Suggestion:
That we allow chat logs to be a form of evidence in the BA/C section, under specific circumstances only.
We allow chat logs to be a form of evidence if:
- Server Admins check the server logs at the exact time and see that the logs correspond with the logs provided by users.
Obviously, we can't make the SA's spend a good 10 minutes searching through logs in every complaint. So, for worse offences, such as hacking or major racial slurs, then chat logs can be a form of evidence. Basically only for the more serious of offences.
Reason:
This would majorly help complaints especially, stop lies from being spread, and really enable context in the BA/C section. Another reason is well, uh https://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/user-complaint-ffa_jdub.173960/
and many many other complaints which I can't be bothered to look for at the moment. I have been thinking about making this suggestion for a very very long time now, and each time I see a complaint where chat logs could help, it reminds me that I haven't yet made this suggestion. Now I have. The FFA complaint shown above reminded me I haven't made this suggestion. Now I have.
I seriously think this would help with context, which seems to be a major part of complaints these days. Proof? The FFA complaint above. If the staff could look at the context and see that the claims that FFA started it were true, then maybe the result would have been different. <<JUST AN EXAMPLE.
But yeah, context could help.
Other Information:
Kind of a rule change - allowing chat logs as evidence would have to be edited into the wiki.

Really the only thing I'd advocate this for is scamming and only in large cases-

in either case just gotta have someone go "no that didn't happen", someone checks logs, then ban the person whose lying. -

-1, too much work for admins too regularly dive through logs.

So, let me reiterate here. The only major offense we do log dives for are for scamming, or feature abuse.
Scamming on that scale is extremely rare, and feature abuse even more so.
I don't see a reason why client logs should be allowed at all.-
